So, I was in the garden picking beans and the phone started to ring. I dashed across the wet grass, into the kitchen and as my wet gardening shoes hit the lino I took off and flew gracefully across the kitchen. Unfortunately my landing wasn't as graceful and involved a rather heavy up-close and personal encounter with the door frame. Luckily for me though my main knitting arm isn't broken, just rather sore and quite a spectacular colour!
I won't be running in wet shoes again!
OUCH! That looks painful! And thank goodness that valuable knitting arm wasn’t injured more severly! Didn’t your mother ever tell you “No running in the house!” lol

I think all I can say is ‘OUCH!’ At least you know you won’t be doing that again in a hurry!

Oooh that made me screw my face up and I just bet that arm’s throbbing now! I’ve had my share of floor skidding and found arnica seems to help with the bruise and pain. Need to keep that knitting arm moving, glad nothing was broken.xxx

I can sympathise. I feel over on a gravel pavement last week and half pulled off my big toe nail and twisted the ankle on my other leg. Couldn’t walk for two days. Serves me right for rushing.

Ouch from here too, and yes to arnica. Also, if very achey soak in a bath with a couple of handfuls of epsom salts, keeping your bruised arm under water for at least 20 mins. Then wrap up warm and go to bed.
Hope you’re nicely healed soon!

Oh, Julie, take care! Hope that’s one of those “looks worse than it really is” situations, but I’m afraid I’m just being optimistic… hope you’re back to 100% soon, just make sure that arm can still lift up a bar of chocolate and a cup of tea!

Wow that’s the biggest bruise ever. Since I started knitting I’ve developed a totally irrational fear of hurting my arms.

Ouch – looks painful – hope you are OK. Try Arnica cream – it works as I bruise very easily. I did a similar thing a couple of years ago.
Just emailed you, Julie.

That’s a mighty fine bruise you got there! It reminds me of the time I did a solo riverdance with a not so graceful finale in the entrance to BHS – worn down crocs in the rain + shiny lino = my most embarrassing moment and a bruise on my hip just like yours! Ouch.

WOW – That is an impressive bruise !!! I am relieved you had no broken bones – no knitting , that would never do.

OUCH! that looks mighty sore. Remember to rest. Elevating the arm would help too. Would be fun to take pictures over the next weeks as the colour changes – and how it will move with gravity. Once a nurse, always a nurse 😉

ditto on the OUCH!
& also on ‘arnica in & arnica ON!!’ Another thing I found SO helpful when I slipped on wet wood by a hot tub years ago – clay packs! I used green clay which I wet with comfrey tea – it took the pain away each time I put it on! You can soak in the epsom salts, smear on some arnica cream, & slather with a layer of clay!!
Gentle hugs

Oh no Julie – it looks so sore! Those shoes weren’t Crocs by any chance were they? Crocs + wet floor = lethal!!
If it’s any consolation I’m having to knit through the pain too, as I’ve pulled a muscle in my right shoulder 😦
