nature’s promise

There’s a sense of expectation in our little garden. A ripening, quickening sort of a feeling.

Agapanthus

Everything is green and lush after the deluge of recent rain and there are little fat buds, swelling fruits and new shoots all ready to do their thing!

Grapes

Amy and I planted some strawberries and tomatoes back in spring and it looks like we’ll have a few fruits of our labour, though it will be just a few – only 2 tomatoes so far!

Proof I suppose that I have woolly fingers as opposed to green ones!

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Ah Julie, you make me :)! Woolly fingers instead of green ones lol! I too have not been blessed with a green thumb. But thankfully my hubby has 🙂

  2. I spy grapes ~ how wonderful to have your own vines! I’ve just been catching up with some of your posts Julie ~ such a lot seems to have been happening since I last dropped by.
I hope that you are enjoying your summer. Wishing you sunshine and smiles.

  3. This seems a bit odd to me. I just posted our pictures of the recent snow fall! I am looking forward to my agapanthus having buds worth photographing on them! I hope you enjoy the warmth and the sunshine. Jen

  4. Wow grapes – I’ve just planted our first grape vine earlier this year – with the idea of growing the plant for the leaves to make Dolmades. If we eventually get grapes, too this would be a bonus.

  5. I planted four different kinds of tommy’s last summer and we had a good crop too, they smell wonderful when coming from your own garden.
Love the agaphanthus too, are your’s white or purple?

  6. Good luck with the strawbs and toms – there’s nothing better than picking a fresh ripe strawberry that’s been warmed in the sunshine – thats if my boy doesn’t get to them first!
