irresistible

I love the change between seasons and probably the main reason I love it so much is my childish excitement at all the new yarn types that are released. This year is no exception with Rowan launching lots of irresistibly gorgeous new yarns – thicker weights for the felted tweed range, a lovely mix of wool and silk in the new Silky Tweed, intriguing textures with Lima and my favourite; the lovely fluffy and soft Alpaca Cotton which I've already made a bunny with.

The only difficulty now is choosing which to use next!

Seaside

day trips to the sunny seaside

I've been so enjoying some precious time with Amy these past two weeks, just a couple of snatched days here and there while Toby has been at summer playschemes or chilling at home with Daddy, but it's been great!

homegrown dinner

Yesterday we had our first complete homegrown roast dinner (well, apart from the chicken – we've not yet despatched one of our ladies, although Chic Chick may well be heading that way if she keeps waking us up with her rooster impression each morning!)

Roast dinner

All the veggies though have been homegrown and were picked, pulled and dug before being quickly washed, briefly cooked and eaten hungrily with great enjoyment. I'm really loving being a veggie grower!
