Bushfire Appeal

I expect everyone knows about the awful situation in Australia at the moment with the raging bushfires and devastation that has so far cost over 180 lives and left thousands homeless. The Red Cross have launched an appeal and many people are doing what they can to help. If you’re able to help by making a donation then please pop over and visit Trashcan who has spent the week collecting together a host of gorgeous goodies as prizes in her raffle. All you need to do is go and make a donation at the red cross website and then email Trash and she’ll enter your name in the draw (1 entry for each Australian dollar that you donate). Go take a look at the prizes (I have my eye on the gorgeous little chair by moogsmum and the beautiful cot quilt from I’m a ginger monkey). There’s even a little cotton rabbit who is glowing with pride as she’s the poster girl!

Please give what you can to help. Many thanks x

PS: there are more wonderful things being sold and auctioned to raise funds here on Handmade help.

bring me sunshine…

I don’t know about you but all this wet and wintry weather is really getting me down! So in an attempt to cheer myself up I am surrounding myself with a rainbow of yarn.

Getting all this sorted out and bagged up has helped me to get organised and I now have some animals ready to be added to etsy, hopefully starting tomorrow. I’m also hoping to write up a free Eastery pattern in the next few weeks. It definitely helps to look ahead to spring – let’s hope it gets here very soon!

out of the groove

I can’t seem to find my knitting groove! It always disappears over a school holiday when keeping the children entertained takes precedence over the quiet pleasures of a ball of wool but this week I’ve still not managed to get back into bunny knitting. It might have something to do with the state of my work basket…

… a tangle of limbs, ears, heads and other disembodied parts – in short a big mess (I am not one of the world’s naturally tidy people). The trouble with working on a whim is that I forget where I got to on a particular animal and where I put the wool to finish off each one. I have some sorting out to do and then hopefully I’ll be on track to finish off some new animals for the end of the month.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the chicken love on the previous post – I look forward to introducing the ladies to you soon!
