Hello again and sorry it’s been so long. April was mostly taken up with the school Easter break and so was full on Toby-time for me. We had a good few weeks though, with wood walks featuring heavily. Spring has taken hold here and sprinkled the countryside with blossoms and blooms. Most of the ones pictured here are now finished for the season as they were the first of the spring flowers; blackthorn blossom, wild daffodils, wood anemones and primroses. I’m happy that I managed to see most of them at their best this year, though it did mean getting up at dawn and heading out with my camera while Toby was still sleeping, as he really doesn’t tolerate me stopping to take photos on our joint wood walks.
Since the start of the school term I’ve had another thing keeping me busy, as you’ll see in the last picture 🙂 I’ve been working on this dogs pattern intensely since the beginning of the year and it’s been growing weekly in terms of the number of options for different breeds. I’ll give you full details once it’s finished and ready, but so far I’ve knitted a total of 57 different heads. The pattern is mostly written up and part of it is already in testing, so it won’t be too long before it will be ready to share. ‘Til then I’m off to work on it some more, I hope to be back here a little more regularly now that most of the hard work is done, see you again soon, J x

These look wonderful. I just got done knitting your backpack, shopping bags and purses for a friend for her birthday! I can’t wait to knit one of these (or win one to buy?….hope, hope). I have a Maltese Yorkie mix and long hair is hard to capture. Love your work!

Oh my goodness, those dogs! Phenomenal. I love the dalmation and the black and tan one with blue pants and the French bulldog that I think I see and the grey and white one in the basket and the white ones at the bottom and ALL OF THEM. Absolutely brilliant, you really are very talented. Beautiful woodland photos as well, it’s been glorious out there hasn’t it. CJ xx

So thrilled to see/read your post! You experience spring much earlier than I do in Canada. We just moved to a beautiful rural spot & watching the garden emerge is a wonderful pastime I am enjoying thoroughly. The move forced me to pack all things including all my LCR patterns & supplies. Every time I see the photos you take, the nature that you are surrounded by, your friend the fox, it is always like paradise for me that I have nothing close to that. When you see that natural paradise you live in, I understand very well where inspiration comes from. Thank you for having the confidence to tell us about you and your life these days.

I have been steadily knitting through your patterns for my niece, who is accumulating quite a menagerie. I made your cat pattern for her last birthday (age 3) because of a recent fascination with all things feline. I guess I know what we are looking at for year 4. It is always nice to get an update from your pretty corner of the world!

No-one has mentioned the lamb! So beautiful – and the way you have put those colours together! On holiday in N Wales a couple of years ago in the Spring, we had new-born lambs frolicking and gambolling in the field behind the cottage garden where we were staying and this one, with her black face, reminds me of that time. I can’t imagine how much work making such a pattern must be, with differents breeds meaning different head and ears (and even tails, I suppose) shapes, and markings, and probably more!
I don’t know how you’re planning on pricing that pattern, but if there is an option to add a ‘tip’, so to speak, I definitely will!
And also, seeing that picture gradually appearing on my screen as I scrolled made my heart skip a beat =D You made my month!

I was waiting for you blog 🙂 and as usual it was a good read. I am looking forward to the pattern of the dogs, they will be loved wherever they go. Thank you for making a community where we can admire each others work, support other knitters and be infected by so many creative ideas.
Since februari, my mother, who will be 89 in July, lives in my house. She is losing her memory in a fast tempo and is not able anymore to take care for herself. I am much more bound at home now, so plenty of time to knit. She knits socks, watching me making the little creatures and their clothing and is trilled by every new item.
I also enjoy your pictures of nature! I also am walking now in early morning before my moher gets up, but I think that the nature close to your home is much richer. But I enjoy the lonely walks with the song of the birds and the upcoming sun. I will think of you while I am walking!

I’ve only knitted one bunny so far, but having used other patterns for toys, I wanted to say how much I appreciate your fantastic directions! Well written and specific, so the knitter doesn’t have to figure out things by squinting at the photos, it’s all spelled out beautifully!
