Spending time in the woods has really influenced my knitting this month. I’ve been drawn to all of the russets, rusts and reds that are the colours of autumn leaves. And the urge to knit small cosy cabled sweaters has been too strong to resist. As a result I’ve got quite a collection now, I just need to knit a few more bunnies to wear them!
Sweater colours are shades of Quince and Co Finch and Brooklyn Tweed Peerie , both 4ply American woollen yarns and both knit cables with beautiful definition.
The bunny is knitted in CamaRose Snefnug which makes wonderfully fluffy cuddly bunnies.
I’m off to knit him some friends – because curled up with knitting is a good place to be on this rainy November afternoon. Hope you’re cosy and comfy where you are x
Oh Julie — your pictures are always so beautiful! I LOVE the sweaters in the pretty fall colors. Thank you for always including your yarn choices — that’s the part I struggle with the most. Happy Fall! XOXO

Gorgeous little jumpers in fabulous autumn colours. I went for a walk in the woods first thing this morning before the rain set in. I fell over trying to take fungi photos and sort of ground my camera into the mud. Sigh. But I think I got a good shot or two so it was all worthwhile. CJ xx

Love your photography, colour selections & your sharing of yarn choice always sends me down a rabbit hole searching…. literally! I have been knitting for the COVD Blanket Project here in Canada 🇨🇦. A square for each person that has perished from this world spread virus here in Canada. Each square will have a plaque with the name of each person lost. Aqua squares honour health care workers. I need to change to a bunny to lift my spirits during this challenging time… thanks for the reminder ❤️
As always, Lori from Port Perry 🇨🇦

Hi Julie,
your Aran sweater is my favourite sweater pattern for boy bunnies, those autumn colour yarns are just stunning, I will have to buy some more yarn! I always love seeing your work but it’s especially uplifting on a stormy, wet, autumn day.

I love your ears! Not your ears personally, though I’m sure they are delightful, but your cheeky bunny ears. They have such character.

Half way through the second lockdown here in Norfolk, many hours spent alone. What would I do without my knitting, creating more of the Little Cotton animals to join the others at Grandma’s house! Looking forward to seeing my grandchildren’s faces when lockdown lifts and their joy at welcoming Ryan the Lion to the gang.
Thank you so much for your generosity and inspiration to share your patterns, I read some of your old blogs when you had concerns about publishing them. Without them my time would have hung heavily and I know I’m not alone. I love watching the membership numbers climbing on the Little Cotton Rabbits Facebook and Ravelry pages! God moves in mysterious ways, when you look back and see what you have achieved despite the difficulties in your life I hope the love and gratitude from us all will be a comfort xx

Hello Julie. Hope you are well. I’m a little confused at the yarn choices you have linked… one is a fingering, the other a worsted. Would the garments not be a different size? I’m trying to use up my stash but am concerned about the finished sizes.
Thanks again for such lovely designs.

Hi Annie
Don’t worry 🙂 All of this has been taken into account and designed into the patterns. The the animals are knitted in worsted weight yarn and the clothing in 4ply weight yarn. This makes for a nice tight fabrioc on the animals and means that the stuffing does not show through. Whilst the clothing is more delicate with more drape and so allows for more scope in the surface designs. Hope this helps to explain J x
