I hope to spend more time creating this year as my husband and i are going to have our home to ourselves as our youngest is about to fly the nest. Lucky both our boys and their partners wont be far away. 🙂

  8. I saw a story on the news today about training yourself to be happier. One of those upbeat New Year’s Resolution stories that populate the airwaves for a few days till we all settle into our old routines. This woman stressed the value of gratitude in our lives. We should write a letter to someone we’re grateful to. It occurred to me when I saw your post that, by golly, I’m really grateful that you share your creativity with us, in all it’s forms, and your insights about mothering. You’re work is exceptionally endearing, and your life stories touching. I’m glad I found your blog. I hope you enjoy creating it as much as I do reading it.

  13. I only just now found your blog Julie. I am enchanted by your words and your patterns. Your knitting skills are exemplary. Such beautiful toys you make! I recently bought your Little Cotton Rabbbit and your Girl Elephant patterns on Ravelry which lead me to your website and blog page. I am so delighted to find you!
I live in Orange, Massachusetts, am 66 years old, a registered nurse by profession and an avid knitter by my heart. I finished a year long project of knitted monkeys, 8 of them for my great nieces and great nephews. Each monkey is a color duo to match the child’s personality. They got them for Christmas, of course, and their universal joy filled my heart with so much warmth and love. My own grandchildren are too old for monkeys.
I wish you and your family a Very Happy New Year, many special memorable times of peace and well being.
