new homes

This post has been languishing as a draft for over a week but it's been school half term break here so I've not had time to sit down and finish it. At this moment though Toby is having a little quiet time, sitting happily watching Balamory (his current favourite show) and stimming with his lego, so I'm hoping to get this done and posted before he decides he wants a bath or a snack or a different Balamory dvd on.

He would have quite happily sat and watched his Balamory dvd collection on a loop all this last week and I swear I'm still hearing the theme tune in my sleep. I've tried to get him out as much as possible though, so there's been wood walks and trips out too. Of course while Toby has wanted to watch dvds I've had a little knitting time but I'll show you more of what I've been making next week. For now I just wanted to pop in and post some pictures of the final two prizes from my 10th anniversary giveaway, as they've now arrived in their new homes.

I've so enjoyed making these and hearing that their new owners are pleased with them.

Well, that's it from me until next week, when peace and order will once more return here and I'll have time to write up our half term adventures, until then have a great weekend and a happy Halloween x

……………………………………………..

Thanks to all for the kind compliments, the little suitcase and tea cups are made by Maileg. I bought mine from Bijou, I think that this particular style might be sold out but there are lots of other pretty designs.

  1. The bunnies are absolutely gorgeous and I’m sure they are delighted in their new homes. My daughter has been exasperated too this holidays as her daughter insists on watching her Frozen video every waking minute. I didn’t like to say that she’d been the same with He-man and She-ra back in the day.

  2. Gorgeous, especially the top one, I love the dress and cardy. And those feet! Beautifully done, as always. It sounds as though Toby had a good half term. The woods are particularly lovely at the moment aren’t they. Wishing all a good weekend. CJ xx

  3. Oh Julie, I could knit your bunny pattern a thousand times but my finished bunnies will never be a patch on yours! They are absolutely gorgeous and I know they will be treasured by their lucky new owners. The lace dress will always be my favourite and your colour choices are beautiful. The little suitcases are the icing on the cake!
I hope you enjoy the rest of half term, looking forward to your next post and catching up.

  6. Gorgeous bunnies, as always. I particularly love the colour way of the neutral colours bunny – she’s adorable. I’d love to know what type of wool you used to knit her head etc – it’s just lovely.

  13. Dear Julie…great to see your post amidst your busy life! You are a wonder! Gentle question…would you consider sharing the yarns you used for these lovely bunnies & clothes? I love your colour sense….as someone who isn’t so sound, in terms of yarn choices & colour combos your choices inspire me to get busy. I usually order my yarn online so it would help to guide my decisions…& success. Enjoy the cooler days & spectacular colours as everything lets go……..🍃🍂🍁🍃🍂🍁

  14. I love your amazing little bunnies and their suitcase full of treasures! I hear you about the tv vs crafting time. The tv buys us parents a bit of peace, but then you know that they would just watch it all day if you let them!

True confession, I would love a couple of them for myself!!

  19. Hi Lori and thanks. A lot of the yarns I’m using now are from my stash and have sadly been discontinued. The bunny in mustard clothes is knitted from 2 strands of yarn held together, 1 of Blue Sky Alpacas melange in 809 (100% baby Alpaca) and 1 of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in 670 (70% mohair, 30% silk). Her cardi is in The Uncommon Thread sock yarn in Nutmeg and her clothes in stashed cotton 4ply. The grey bunny is knitted from all discontinued yarns I’m afraid (Rowan Alpaca cotton for the bunny)
    Sorry I can’t be more helpful, J x
