packing

Well, the last batch of little cotton rabbits (and friends) for this year are being bedded down in their tissue paper and wrapping and getting ready to be sent off to new homes.

Packing

I think the annual Christmas batch with their nordic clothing are the ones that I most enjoy working on and I really like playing around with new dress designs. This year my favourite is the dress with the little robins – it was a bit fiddly to knit but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I'll also find it hard to say goodbye to Henning with his fat tum and baggy shorts – he reminds me a little of Toby!

Anyway, if you're interested in rehoming any of these 8 animals then please pop on over to my 'shop blog' and leave a comment on any that you like. I'm closing comments and using the random number generator on Thursday morning.

Then I'll be taking a wee bunny knitting break (I'm a little bunnied out) and instead I'm planning on making more wristwarmers. I've just cast on yet another pair, this time using a lovely pattern from Suzanne Stallard, but more of those another time.

  1. I always think that the wristwarmers you make look very intricate but very beautiful. I can totally understand that your ‘ bunnied out’ I’ve made hardly any this year. Robyn and Henning are my favourites too .

  2. Ilove the little rabbit with his aran sweater on. I can see the Isle of arran from the end of our road at the West of scotland. Merry Christmas

  3. All of your creations are adorable! I would love to rehome any of them. Wishing you a happy holiday season from rainy Portland, OR.

  4. They are simply adorable!

  5. They are, as always, amazing Julie! I always look forward to seeing your new bunnies, so don’t take too long a break! 😉 The little robin design is beautiful and I have to admit to putting my name down next to her. 🙂

  6. I just love your bunnies and your blog! I love to knit but don’t think I could make anything quite as adorable as these. I would love and take care of them 🙂

  12. Julie, I have been loving your bunnies since you first started your blog, but
Robyn is just gorgeous- definitely my favorite bunny! You are so talented and
I always look forward to your next inspired creations! Thanks for sharing your
talents and happy holidays to you and your family.

  13. Julie
Have you seen the number of visitors to your blog since Sept 2010 1,886,571. That is truly amazing!!!!!!!!!!!Congrats……….
Do you really ever take a bunny break? I don’t think so, if not knitting you would be thinking of designs for bunnies to wear. The robins were beautiful.
Have a great holiday with your family.

  14. I would leave fifty comments on the robin dress if I could convince myself that it would work and be fair at the same time. Woah – I just saw your visitor number in the side bar – Julie. Almost TWO MILLION PEOPLE have taken joy simply because you did this blog and make these bits of beauty. Doesn’t that confound your reason? TWO MILLION. A city’s worth. You have also brought them together in a sort of sisterhood (sorry boys- let’s say, sweet community) – briefly, in a world torn by so much ugliness and disharmony. YOu have worked a miracle, my darling girl – and so have given, in no uncertain way, a great gift back to the God who blessed your heart and hands the way he has. That is no small thing, and if you haven’t sat down to feel amazed at it, you must – you must see what you have done. Just knowing you are in the world is a glorious gift to me.
    Many kisses!

  15. Love the bunny with the robin dress and stripey tights! so cute! I wish I was better at knitted toys, they always seem to look a bit odd!

  16. That little dress with the birds at the hem is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. You are such an amazing woman…amazing.

  17. Oh my goodness how sweet is all this. I love all of them so cute.. ooohhh I need to learn to make something like this. You are so very talented..amazing really love it.

  18. Greetings from western North Carolina in the States. I just found you via raverly..and just fell in love with your precious website! I would consider myself a new knitter, even tho I’ve been knitting for about 6 years. My knitting has been pretty simple things, but this year I am praying that I can branch out and get better. I’m a seamstress and quilter and have always loved fiber..so here I go…praying one day you will share your sweet little bunnies pattern..not sure I’d ever be good enough to do it..but there is always hope!
