a give-away

Well, the animals are now fully armed (though not dangerous in the least little bit) and they have their tails and buttons attached in the appropriate places too.

Drawers

So to celebrate the start of my 7th year of blogging I'm going to give one of them away. To enter just leave a comment below. Any kind of comment will do but if you have time then I'd love to know what little things make you happy (as you probably already know, for me it's my knitting and a bit of peace and quiet). I'll draw a name at random next tuesday and then the rest will be up for sale (I'll email details to the mailing list and keep facebook up to date too).

I'm off now to start on some more animals. I'm feeling drawn to browns and reds and oranges at the moment – it must be the start of autumn which explains why I have a few hedgehogs on the go too. I've also been playing around with a few nordic ideas for my traditional christmas bunch, though I'm reluctant to start thinking too much about that time of year just yet. I also hope to catch up with emails and my blog reading. Things have been a little intense on the family front lately and I've fallen behind with a lot. Hopefully everything will be back to what we call normal soon.

Enjoy the rest of your week x

  1. The things that make me happy are my dog and cats, a walk on the beach, the smell of babies, having dinner on a Friday with my husband, sunshine, my little container garden and sewing!

  2. Being a fellow mum of a boy with autism my sewing, a group of friends round my table for coffee and a cup of tea with a couple of biscuits prior to school pick up make me, but most of all my lovely boy and husband make me happy.

  3. I love your bunnies and would to love to be entered in your draw. Thank you
The things that make me happy are my lovely son Rowan (the name inspired a little by the yarn!) and my 7 real life bunnies that hop around my house and garden. They never fail to raise a smile with their silly expressions and different personalities….and food, food always makes me happy!

  6. My children make me happy – they bring light into my life.
Also a full pot of tea, in a proper teapot, on a tray, in front of the TV while I settle down with my knitting. Need more squidgy socks for winter.
Wishing you all the best Julie xxx

  7. Beautiful, beautiful bunnies (and foxes, and mice and elephants…)
What makes me happy? Hiking in the countryside with my hubby and kids. The best!

  8. Yippee! A drawing!:-) I too love to read and knit. I can only knit a long strand,;) but it is very Relaxing to me!! I love gardening as well.. The cold has hit Alaska, it’s time to start prepping for winter. I so enjoy the short summer months with lots of flowers and veggie!:-)

  9. I’ve been following your creative work for many years now after first seeing your rabbits in a craft magazine. I love seeing other crafters creations. Of an evening I will be either knitting, crocheting or paper piecing in front of the TV. Ooh, Chocolate makes me very happy!
I’ve been struggling with shoulder pain these past few months so I haven’t been able to to much spinning. But when I manage I do find it quite meditative and sometimes 20 minutes will pass before I realise it. My 15 yr old makes me very happy – she is turning out to be a lovely young lady and I’m very proud of her hard work and dedication at school. If only she enjoyed crafting as much as I do, now that would make me very happy. Happy crafting! 😀

  10. Yes!I would love to win such a gorgeous little bunny. Your taste is impeccable. Wish I had your sense of colour. I love to crochet and knit, to read and watch good movies. And it makes me happy to work in my small garden. I still have some carrots left. The smell like childhood.

  11. I just love your creations! I so wish you had a knitting book with your creations to knit for my children

  12. Congratulations on you blog’s anniversary!

  16. What a lovely selection of animals. I don’t know how you let go of them! I am really loving your blog banner, those flooers mittens are just fab. I am also loving my two little baby girls who give me so much joy (and so much pain)!

  17. I love your rabbits the best.
What inspires me is sunshine, my girls playing and laughing, running, cycling, knitting and crochet and my lovely husband who is always so grounded
    Thanks for blogging x

  18. Knitting, a good book, a warm bath, posh chocolate, a bike ride, a mug of redbush tea…not all at the same time, obvs.

  19. Thank you very much to allow us to have a chance to win one of your wonderful creation.
I’m happy with a hug from my children, a sun square on my bed to put my feet in, a good book, a message from an old friend, a letter in my mailbox, finding something old and cheap on a “vide-grenier” (kind of yard sale in France), sharing the evening with my husband when my children are in bed (with a tea, a square of chocolate and a good movie), hot chocolate and big socks when it’s winter time, succeeding in creating something (I’m a beginer at crochet, knitting and sewing)… It’s good to remember that there are a lot of little pleasures in life !

  20. Whenever you make a blog post, it makes me smile. I have a slide show of your “animals” as my screen saver…Some are whole, some are body parts. All have very expressive faces. You should be very proud of the work that you do.

  21. Congratulations on 7 years of blogging!
Small things that make me happy? Crocheting while listening to an audiobook, my house rabbits, clean white bed linen and a cup of coffee and a macaroon. Oh dear, what a strange list!
Your animals are just gorgeous 🙂

  22. Love your knitted animals, you are a very talented lady Julie, the things that make me happy are my grandchildren, doing my crafts to sell at fairs, and giving things to other people to make them happy
Doesn’t have o be material things, spending some time with someone to brighten up they day! X

  23. what makes me happy…my (nearly) 8 month old daughter, collecting fabrics and knowing that summer is almost here (in Australia) 🙂

  25. They all look so sweet. Things that make me happy are my children. And I love making things blankets, clothes, toys especially for my children so I also love collecting fabric.

  26. Wow Julie! 7 years is a big achievement. The things that make me happy are, knitting, hooking, reading and my family. Your newest batch of little animals are gorgeous as always :O)xx

  27. Sitting in the evenings when the house is tidy and the kids are in bed quilting or knitting without any distractions.

  28. What makes me happy? Pretty pictures, sweet foxes, cupcakes, friends and cuddles with my puppy, my kids on good days, lol, and making gifts for friends and family that mean more because they’re specially made for them.

    wendy

  30. Love it Julie!in the draw great idea for a photo.. i love slepping, millinery, rainy days when you are knitting in the sofa.. old movies… and lot of things….

  31. what a beauty’s you have made, I can’t believe how many and how great they look. I love to knit, but I looove to cross stitch too, that’s my first love. Quilting and crocheting is good too :-). It relaxes me always.
I know what you mean by ‘intens’, good luck with your family. It is hard work.

  32. I’m new to your blog but I remember finding your little knitted creations on Ravelry over a year ago. I thought they were wonderful then and even better now. After wandering around your blog, I realize that you have an artist’s eye for photography also.
Happiness and satisfaction are twin sisters for me. I’m happy when I am sewing a quilt, learning a new technique, solving a genealogy puzzle, finding a box of really old family photos on closet shelf, discovering that I’m going to be a grandma, an after dinner car ride in the country with my husband. Happiness for me comes in moments.

  33. I have a balance problem so knitting is very useful for me and helps relaxation. I have followed your blog for years, it is truly an inspiration. Keep up the good work.

  34. For me it’s crocheting and a bit of peace and quiet :).
I’m leaning towards purple, orange and brown at the moment, I don’t know if it has anything to do with the approaching fall, but I feel like those are the colours I want to work with as soon as possible.
Your creations are so very adorable, inspiring and varied, it’s always nice to see what you’ve knitted :). So happy I found your blog!
    Keep calm and knit on(e)!

  35. Oohhh they are so beautiful! What makes me happy? My job, being a midwife rocks, crocheting, knowing I’m going to be meeting my new baby girl any day now oh and snuggling the little bit just below the ears of my gorgeous sons, despite the fact that they think they’re too big for it!

  36. I love to stitch and create things with fabric. I wish I could knit but this talent seems to have escaped me thats why I love, love, love your work. I started my own very small business working from home in February called The Wicked Stitch of Coventry and I love it. It helped me get through post natal depression after having my beautiful daughter Phoebe at the grand old age of 41. I already had a 16 year old daughter Chloe and had been trying for another baby for 15 years. Stitching helped me through the bad times and now I have 2 wonderful daughters & a great husband. Life’s good! xxx

  37. The thought of my evening tonight is making me happy 🙂
My knitting, glass of wine and ‘Good Cop’ on tv, and knowing that when we wake up in the morning my little family and I are off to Lyme Regis for the day 🙂 :-):-)
Love your blog and your animals. You’re a very talented lady x

  38. I just love seeing your latest batch 🙂 Family get togethers, a good book, sunshine and finding somehting new in my family history all make me happy

  39. Happiness is four children asleep in bed. ❤ And, coming here to find you have more little friend’s ready to go.

  40. Beautiful beautiful animals as ever! Seeing my boys poke about in the mud and feed the worms makes me more happy than is probably normal, and I got an insane amount of pleasure out of turning a shrunken pair of woollen trousers into mittens the other day.
Thanks for the blogging – I’ve been reading for about five years and you are an inspiration.

  42. I hope things settle down again soon. Things that make me happy: finding a secret fig tree not far from my house. My husband knowing me so well. When our baby boy giggles. 10 minutes to sit and knit and think. X

  43. learning to knit is making me happy, having a cold nose whilst tucked up in bed, my nephew (2 years old) explaining that all crazy and impossible things happen in my house, my new husband… i could go on 🙂
oh, and autumn! i love autumn. and your rabbits 😉

  44. What makes me happy? Cooking, baking, making gorgeous little quilts for family and friends, ‘playing’ on Pinterest, and most importantly spending time with loved ones. Being able to read about and see the beautiful and talented designers such as yourself makes me VERY HAPPY!

  47. I’ve also fallen a bit behind on getting my peace and quiet lately. But I’m working on getting it back, and knitting is going to be a huge part of that!

  48. They look wonderful all lined up ready and waiting.
I’m with you on the ‘little bit of peace’ front but I guess different seasons bring me different little bits of happiness – at the moment it’s the golden glow of a beautiful new day and the cosy up in front of the fire of an evening.
    Have a lovely one,
    Nina x

  49. They are just so cute, what a talented lady you are. I am happiest spending time with my lovely family and today is my baby grandsons first birthday so can,t wait to see him later. I love knitting but only a beginner, I also love crochet, quilting, gardening and baking. I have recently retired so really looking forward to spending time doing the things I love. 50. Julie, my family makes me happy, on bad days chocolate makes me happy (even though I should really cut back), music always makes me happy (unless its that dreadful rap music but I suspect that music make others happy), the sunshine (its been so rainy here in Melbourne this past winter – I am itching for spring to officially arrive). Best wishes xx

  51. These are a few of the things that make me happy….
…..Apples, butterflies, my kitten, Autumn, knitting, friends, sleep, marmite, whimsical items and friends…
There is so much more, but I dont want to fill your page with random items I like!
Your knitted animals make me happy too, I wish I had every single one of them!!
    Marie xxxx

  52. Happy Anniversary!!! Your animals are beautiful and I always enjoy seeing them, especially bunnies they are my favorite but I love them all. For me designing and sewing are my passion. I love seeing the smiles on my Grand-daughters and little girls when they have beautiful little dresses and doll clothes that match. I enjoy knitting sweaters but my arthritis has made knitting something I am not able to anymore. I keep pulling out the needles but I don’t get very far. Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway and may you have many more years of great blogging and beautiful little animals!

  53. Not sure I should be taking part in this, having just won a phone pouch, but I just wanted to join in with your thoughts of simple pleasures. I love knitting or crocheting by an open fire with some nice chocolate to enjoy. Lovely. Your latest batch of sweet animals is as enchanting as ever. I still marvel at the speed you knit! I hope things settle down at home, as much as is possible. xx

  54. The anticipation of a new project, you know when you have the yarn / fabric / plants and you’re at the just looking stage and your brain goes into overdrive at the possibilities? Huge pleasure. Lovely beasties Julie as always.

  57. Congradulations on your 7th year.!! Your creations are lovely!I enjoy my family and i really enjoy my knitting especially trying new patterns for toys. I find knitting so relaxing and most of the time enjoy the end results.

  58. A big pile of crocheted Afghan Squares gradually whittling down as I piece them together into a new blanket. Especially at this time of year, when the evenings are starting to draw in and there’s a chill in the air!

  59. Hi Julie, The animals are as cute as ever!!! I am most happy when I am with my little family. I love when it is just the three of us together doing stuff at home. Also really enjoy reading, craft and gardenin, especially my vegies at the moment. THanks for the opportunity.

  64. Autumn makes me so happy, I love everything about this time of year. The colours, the food, the smells and the weather.
Thank you for the opportunity to win one of your amazing creations.

  65. Wow look at all those amazing little creatures you have created. I think I am love with the foxes for some reason, must be the colors! Seeing your creations always makes me happy but I think the things that make me happy is knitting handknits for little ones and seeing them wearing them! Congratulations on 7 years of blogging too!

  66. The new animals are beautiful as always! I love spending my free time with knitting, reading and meeting friends 🙂

  67. One of the things that brings me great joy is my rabbit, Florence. She is a red mini lop with a wonderful, feisty, loving personality and she is incredibly intelligent. I love playing with her and teaching her new things and a cuddle with her fixes everything – some of your knitted bunns remind me so much of her

  68. What beautiful little creatures! I have a guilty secret….the thing that makes me really happy is sitting, on my own, watching Doctors with a cup of tea and some chocolate. That and sitting in the car with some knitting or crochet waiting for the children to come out of school.

  69. ….I would love all the bunnies!!! But one is ok the same!!! ;oD
What makes me happy? my boys, knitting, crochet, crafts in general, a cup of tea and my tiramisu’!!!

    Nathalie

  71. Being with the people closest to me (including my younger adult brother who is autistic) makes me happy. Ad making things for other people – I don’t really make anything for me as there is nothing I need, but I love giving handmade gifts away. In this world of being able to buy everything in a shop, something that shows time, love ad effort is probably the most precious gift.

  72. Always love a chance to win one of these little beauties.
Several things are making me happy at the moment; my little 10 month old who is fiercely independent but has just started to come for a cuddle and an hour in the morning while he naps to catch my breath with a cup of coffee and a chance to whip the house into shape!

  73. 7 years…wow huge congrats to you….and you have so many folk who love you too.
My special family times are what make me the happiest. I love it when all 3 of my children, their other halves and all 5 of my grandchildren are all together. 🙂
    Hugs,
    Annie x

  74. Little things that make me happy are; to knit and crochet with the cat purring on my lap, while my three little darlings are sound asleep. Watching the small animal life in my back yard, still hoping for that hedgehog to come visit me sometime (I love that you are going to knit some hedgehogs!! I love those little creatures). Watching the changes in nature’s colour through the seasons, giving me so much inspiration for creating new things!

  75. Such beautiful little creatures Julie, they certainly raise the happiness levels. 🙂
What makes me happy? My family, animals, flowers, knitting, crocheting, buying yarn!!!!
I really have a thing for orange at the moment too. 🙂 Let’s enjoy the autumn colours before we think about ‘C’!!
    Wishing you happiness too!
    Vivienne x

A few things that make me happy

Watching my new son give some megawatt smiles ot his dad when he comes home from work.
    Autumn weather

  80. Oh, a class of furry friends. I would love to teach them in school… which reminds me I’ll have to go back to work in two months… but being a teacher is something I love doing and there are many lovely moments in classroom.
But what makes me truly happy are my kids. Being with them, playing with them, crocheting for them, sewing for them.
    Thank you for this giveaway.

  81. Love the way the little fox is peeping round the corner.
At the moment I’m very much loving looking at Paul Holywood every Tuesday evening.

  82. At the moment I love seeing my new primary one coming out of school with a happy little face after enjoying another day of school.

  83. seeing little children with their bright smiles makes me happy! i also feel happy when i have time to create/draw/colour stuff!

  84. My kids make me happy, beautiful places and landscapes, warm tea on a cold day, reading your blog makes my happy!

  85. Basset Hounds are my love as well as knitting and crocheting. You’re rabbits inspired me to try to make some little toys and I worked on those all summer! I just love looking at your animals!

  86. The thing that makes me happy is music. I love to play my clairnet or just listen, but it always cheers me up when im low. Your rabbits bring so much happiness too. Hope your well and able to relax.

  87. Happy Anniversary!!
What makes me happy? Hmmmmm….crisp autumn mornings, frosted spiders webs, a really good cup of coffee (and the time to drink it in peace!) a day at my favourite quilting barn and the grin on my little boys face when he recognises that he IS good at something (little lacking in confidence at the moment) – thankyou for actually making me take the time to realise that there is plenty to smile about, even when life seems a little bit overwhelming!

  88. Happy blogiversary 🙂
These are the cutest rabbits I’ve ever seen! I wish there was a pattern! (I know a sweet little girl who would love one of these)
About what makes me happy, the list could be long, full of little things, and would change with the season and the mood, but if I had to choose I’d say being with my family, my mother taking care of me, my father silently around, just being there. Me having nothing to worry about, and having a little bit of time in a quiet home, where I can just be me, with a little time to knit, crochet, and read, a cup of tea in the hand, and a sweet scented candle lit up on the side. That’s what makes me the most happy I think!

  89. Being creative
I love my Patchwork, crosstitch and knitting (though obviously not to your high standard!!)
    Jane

  90. i just love all your animals and would love to win one
like you i love to knit……in front of an open fire or in the garden

  91. Hi Julie!
I am Marlene and I started to make cross stitch but now I do crochet and knitting.
I love and appreciate your work and I realize that they are made with great care.
    Thank you for this opportunity!
    Hugs from Portugal,
    Marlene

  92. These are so very beautiful, I have entered all of your draws and dreamed of giving a good home to one of these beautiful little cotton rabbits, i hope this is my lucky day!!
The thing that makes me most happy in the world is cooking for my beloved family and friends, I can spend hours in the kitchen reading old and new books on the food of the world, making spice mixes, jams, cakes, french, Italian, indian and good old British food. It truly makes me happy! Oh and the other thing that makes me happy (and this is so strange) is watching spongebob squarepants (Im 31 years old)!! I think as I have a stressful job, watching the antics of spongebob, patrick, squidward and Mr Crabbs, just takes me to a place that is fun and stress free, I think they call it escapism??
p.s sorry if i have posted twice in error, i think i posted half my comment earlier but cant see it!!

  93. Oh, how generous of you! I just adore your little foxes especially. 🙂 Hmmm, things that make me happy… knitting, hot coffee, sitting under the trees in the back yard on a blanket while my little ones play around me.

  94. Oh gosh – how wonderful. Happy 7th anniversary. I love knitting and crochet – it makes me happy to sit and knit and chat with people. My knitting might be lumpy and mishapen but it does cheer me so.

  95. I really had to stop and think what makes me happy! We are all so hectic these days I sometimes feel that life is often just a ‘to do’ list. Spending quiet time reading, knitting, surfing Wikipedia on a fact finding mission (yes, I admit it), make me happy. Holding hands with my husband, getting a snuggle from my son, having Oscar the cat curl up on my knee are the small things I treasure and of course make me happy. I do enjoy your blog and hope you enjoy your quiet times during the school term.

  96. So cute! I feel happy when I’m at home and can sew for a while without interruptions. I also enjoy knitting but it’s been some time since I last knitted; maybe this fall I’ll find my inspiration back!
Thank you so much for the giveaway!
    ap_lemos at yahoo dot com

  97. I love all of your animals! They just give me warm fuzzies and make me smile! What makes me happy? Spending time with my husband at our “little house in the country,” hearing from daughter at college and feeling the joy she radiates (she just txted me!), teaching preschool, and of course being creative in my knitting and scrapbooking — just love colors and textures!

  98. Writing and drawing just in pencil gives me an immense amount of pleasure – flashbacks to primary school perhaps, plus the potential to rub it out and start again.

  99. Hi Julie! Just being at home with my family and dog makes me happy. I love seeing the wonderful things you make and am amazed at your talent in designing the animals, etc. Please never stop creating! Thanks for a great giveaway. I’d love to “own” one of your little ones!

  100. What makes me happy? mmmm…..reading a good book in bed when my day is over, splashing out on a facial as a special treat. Spending time over a cuppa with my closest friends, baking a cake for somebody. Seeing my children having fun together. A warm cuddle from my husband. Seeing my neices and nephews, growing my own fruit and veg., taking a walk, Loungemake craft group.
When I see my fitness class participants getting fitter and stonger I am sooo happy. Seeing dogs having fun on their walks, kids make me laugh so much with their honest and sometimes brutal opinion.
    Get the picture?
Julie you are a legend, and inspiration and a truly gorgeous person, YOU make me happy!

  101. your little creations just make my heart swell, they are so divine, all with their own little characters ….you are so so very clever Julie

  103. They look so gorgeous Julie, you do such a beautiful job on them. Congratulations on 7 years of blogging, I always enjoy reading it. Knitting and crocheting makes me happy, along with my family and friends.

  104. Although I love my kids, I enjoy the weekday mornings when they are in school and I know they are well and I can finally relax. Having kids takes up all your time and a cup of coffee or tea by myself is sooooo enjoyable.

  105. Has it really been seven years? Time is really flying by. I enjoy a good read, always have. A little escape from the daily grind. Thank you for the draw, so sweet.

Seriously, though, contentment for me is curled on my sofa, with both of my furry limpets (I am the property of the world’s cuddliest cats), and a blanket to crochet, with something really involving on the telly (like a whole series of Downton Abbey!).

  118. Happy anniversary,Julie, and long may you continue! What makes me happy is not feeling so pressured that I do not have the time or the energy to spend with the people I love. When the plane lands–signaling a new adventure or a return home. Baby coos. Thanks for the chance to win one. These are so cute.

  137. What makes me happy? Seeing your lovely menagerie of adorableness, crisp fall days, a good crunchy apple, sun over my shoulder as I stitch or knit, starting our new blog (www.tokensandtrifles.com/blog), knowing the ruffle from” h*ll” on my Sothia shawl is almost done, dancing while making dinner , a bright clear moon and so much more!

  138. I have been off my feet for the last month following an operation on my foot, progressing well and should be back to normal in a couple of weeks. 159. What makes me happy? Inspiration from people (such as yourself) through the internet, holding the soft warmth of my house bunny close to me, and watching my 4 rescued ex-battery hens explore their freedom in the garden with grass beneath their feet and the sun on their feathers. :o)

  160. Congratulations on your 7th year of blogging!
There are many little things that make me happy…the warmth of the sunshine, sitting in the garden crocheting, and reading blogs like yours which are very inspirational. I love all the little animals you knit, which are so adorable..
Thank you for a wonderful blog.

  161. Happy anniversary! After years of thinking crafting and anything creative was beyond me, I am enjoying being a first time mum and creating a few little bits and pieces for my little girl.

  162. Knitting things from your patterns (teeny tiny christmas ornaments, teddies, hedgehogs, egg cozy) makes me happy though I will never make them as well as you. I have even tried to make some bunnies, mine are nice but…. My other passion is painting etegami (Japanese style postcards) and sending them off to new friends I have found on the internet (that wonderful magical place that allows us to connect and share with people we may never meet in person. Thank you for your lovely blog and an insight into your life.

  164. Thanks for the lovely giveaway – here’s hoping! Things that make me happy – a cup of tea and a snooze on the sofa while my kids nap. Followed by a bit of knitting or sewing time, if I’m really lucky! I see a theme developing amongst your respondents!

  167. What makes me happy – smiles, laughter, happiness! And watching my daughter introduce each new bunny that she has been given to their new home – room by room. She’s been doing this for a long time – and treasures each and every one so much, I have even scrapbooked them, and plan to do a whole album recording their names and where and why they arrived to our home. Your bunnies are such a delight – and very unique, your talent for these little animals is wonderful. I knit, I crochet, but I can’t do anything this small and exquisite!

  168. Happy 7th birthday! I love these bunnies, so cute.
Simple things make me happy … playing hide and seek with my kids, having a cu of coffee on my porch while I knit,
reading a good book, being near the ocean.

  169. I love all of your creations. Something that makes me happy is crocheting. My great nana taught me how to crochet when I was really little. I am thankful that I have that to remember her by. She would make afghans for every baby that was born into the family. Since she has passed away, I have been continuing her tradition.

  170. Your little animals and blog make me happy – you are such a loving, generous person. Thanks for the giveaway.

  171. They are so so sweet, some of them appearing to peer over the edge of the drawer! Their little faces have so much character too.
What makes me happiest at the moment is precious time spent with my teenage daughter – the older she gets the less time for Mum, although as loving as ever when I am privileged to be able to spend time with her!

  172. Knitting, of course. : ) But also enjoying a bit of time outside on our deck. There’s a huge tree with over-hanging branches that lets dappled light through. It’s very lovely. ❤

  174. Happy 7th anniversary and congratulations on the feature in Craft Beautiful!! Happiness is (in no particular order)…. chocolate, knitting, yarn, family and of course your cute bunnies plus my own little family of china bunnies are all sure to make me smile!! 🙂

  175. Your little animals are such eautiful creations. I love seeing people pursuing their passions. Mine is cooking. I would love to sit down and have a conversation with Julia Child and Gordon Ramsay – my two food favorites. I love cooking because it is a great expression of love towards those you care about and it makes people happy – just like your sweet animals.

What makes me happy are the sweet little things in life: reading, crocheting, walking at the beach, gardening, drinking tea in front of the fireplace on Winter nights and my dear partner 🙂

  193. I love just being able to spend some time with family. Like sitting on my mother’s patio visiting with her. Or the luxury of being at home and puttering with “homekeeping”. Even if it’s cleaning the dreaded toilets ;-D.
Your little animals are just adorable Julie — as always. What a lovely giveaway!

  194. Happy Birthday Little Cotton Rabbits! What makes me happy these days is feeling those little kicks inside my belly and the thought of the white baby blanket I’m about to start knitting. Hope you enjoy many more years of blogging! Best wishes xxx

  201. I find that knitting gives me patience which makes me a better person. And that makes me happiest! May you have a bit of Knitting and peace and quiet in every day.

  202. I love all your work it truly is perfection. Just beautiful x x x
When I look at my children it makes me smile inside and out, that is pure joy and happiness. My favourtie crafts are knitting and crochet and when I am working on a piece and focus on what I am making all other thoughts are put aside which leaves me with nothing but peace and happiness.
Love your blog and always look forward to reading it x x x x x

  203. I love your animals, their sweetness shines through.
It’s the little things that make me happy – cool breeze on my face. But most of all it’s my two teenage boys. One lives away from home now at college, he was home this past weekend. I was joyous. 🙂

  204. My twin boys age 14 still telling me how much they love me and my dear little princess age 5 LOVING me to the moon and back! (oh…and I would love to bask in the sun with a glass of vino on the Amalfi Coast of Italy!)
Your knit animals are the most beautiful ever…three yrs and still hopeful for one wee little!!!

  205. I think your Rabbits are AWESOME!! I LOVE them, each and every one!. I also love your Foxes and your elephants and your monkeys and, well, I guess I just LOVE them all!! I truely NEED one of your little knitted creatures!!

  206. Congratulations on making it to 7 years! I am in the middle of writing my 4 year anniversary post and I thought I was doing well! Your animals are so beautiful they make me smile. The small things that make me happy are the smell of a wood fire outside on a crisp Autumn evening, when the sky is clear and I can see the stars.

  207. I love your knitting! I’d love to be entered in your draw. I love knitting, crocheting, sewing for my two little girls. Spending time with my family makes me happy.

The process of changing an idea into an object is a constant joy. I love the look of your soft little critters and I want to go yarn shopping with you some day.

  211. Well done on creating another super-lovely batch of knits! How I wish you had time to open a shop…
My 5 month old baby makes me very happy, as does my husband, my family, being on maternity leave (no work or commuting, whoo-hoo!) country walks, crafting, big old houses with secret passages, and a nice cup of tea and a sit down, preferably with a large slab of cake. Yum!

  212. I would love to win one of these, adore them all!
Things that make me happy besides my family, of course, would be knitting and biking. Now if I could only figure out how to do them at the same time…

  213. Knitting, especially with friends, makes me happy. If no friends are around, sitting on my couch with a movie and a dog is a close second.

  214. I love the little things. Picking my own herbs, cooking good simple food, curling up and reading a book but I absolutely LOVE crocheting blankets. Your “me old china” blankie inspired me to make one inspired by some cath kidston mugs I have. Thankyou for inspiring me not only in craft but to be more accepting to people with learning disabilities and understand how difficult it is to deal with it. My brother has aspergers and I never understood how hard it must have been for my mum until I read your blog. Thankyou for letting someone like me take a peak into your life.
    Lots of love,
    Em

  215. I LOVE the picture of your animals in this post. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the elephants before and they are so cute! Simple things make me happy: walking my dog in the woods, dinner with my husband, knitting, and reading a good book.

  216. I love reading your blog. Your photos are uplifting, your writing is great, and what about your knitting and crocheting! But, one thing I like maybe the most, is your honest view of you and your family….rather a tell it like it is because that’s what it is. I enjoy that you find time just for you and your daughter. And, you know deeply that you need time for yourself. I have a dear friend with a son with autism who just turned 17 and the two of you seem to face the world better than others I know. I find that stopping by your Little Cotton Rabbits gives me something to think on. Thank you!

  217. Wow I love that bunny on the bottom row with a patch over her eye and ear! Too cute! I can’t wait to see your Christmas creations!
I’m happy when I’m snuggled up with my cat, a hot chocolate and a good book! 🙂

  218. Lots of little things make me happy but, at the moment when you asked, I was looking at the picture of your little animals and their little smiles made me happy!

  219. 7 years! Good grief, that time really has passed quickly. It has been a delight and a privilege to be invited into your world. There are two things that encompass much of what makes me happy, reading and learning. I was at a friend’s house on Monday and she showed me a basket of yarn skeins she had dyed with funghi, fruits and barks. Oh Julie! My first thought on seeing them all was of you. They were the colours that I see repeated again and again in your work. Soft grey-greens, delicate ochres, muted sable browns. My friend wondered what she make with them and I told her to leave them sitting in their baskety home for some time longer bc they just looked so perfect. sigh I wish I had a pic to share with you.

  220. What beautiful animals! My happiness comes from my family, my cat, knitting, reading, chocolate and Liverpool FC- simple pleasures in life 🙂

  221. The bunnies are lovely Julie and so cute…
I enjoy reading and having a cup of tea or cocoa and taking walks along the beach it always helps to get things in perspective for me. Happy 7 years on your blog 🙂

  222. Yeyyyyy another giveaway!! Fingers crossed, lol. What makes me happy?? So much! My family…most especially my baby. Yarn. My ridiculous dogs. Travel. Planning Travel (totally a difference!), Disney, Christmas. Lol, I could go on and on!!

  223. For me I’d have to say that crocheting and buying new yarns makes me happy. When I knit or crochet a sense of calmness comes over me and I just feel so relaxed and peaceful! I would love to win one of your little critters : )

  224. I love your little foxes, they’re very sweet.
In my life my favourite thing is smelling my children’s hair; while cuddled in on the sofa under crocheted blankets. In some ways I’m glad Autumn is on the way, I get more cuddle time.
    Amanda.x.

  225. Oh I love your little knit animals. Do I spy some foxes in there? What makes me happy……Legoland with my grand daughter and sitting in my chair with a pile of yarn and crocheting.

  226. I’m happy at this time of year when I see the squirrels getting ready for winter. I love when they dig little holes to bury their nuts. They seem so industrious.
And, any time of year, I’m ridiculously happy when I see a chipmunk. They are the cutest things ever 🙂
And, I love all your little knitted animals – always they have the sweetest, most gentle little faces.
Thank you for your blog. It is a favorite of mine. I’ve been reading for a few years now, and I’m pretty sure I found you through your little Christmas stocking pattern, so thank you for that too 🙂

  227. I love your creations Julie, and came across your site via funky kits as I make cards as well as knit toys. thank you for offering a cuddly toy, and if I won I would treasure it so very much. thanks more importantly for making me pick up my needles again, I had forgotten how much I missed making toy animals. hugs and thanks for sharing your beautiful moments with your children and garden too Jess xx

Apart from the obvious knitting and crochet, curling up with a good book makes me incredibly happy. 499. A book I’ve never read makes me very happy. Preferably if its a big fat book and by one of my favorite authors. I keep an eye on all the new release dates, but sometimes one sneaks through and it’s such a wonderful surprise.

  500. I am working hard to finish university. It is tough but I am enjoy my course of study and all the things I am learning. I will be glad to graduate! Then my WEDDING to plan. YIPPEEE! I love your bunnies and especially the elephants.

  503. At the end of the day, I enjoy nothing better than curling up on the sofa with some knitting and a cup of tea, BLISS.

  504. What makes me happy? Believe it or not, physical activity. Whether taking a walk, trying to jog or being pushed in any other way phsyically. I don’t get to be very active these days, but when I am my entire outlook on life changes. I feel free and happy. Have you ever watched a small child run like the wind. That’s the feeling I get when I move.

  505. I agree with all the other commenters that you make the most beautiful little animals in the WORLD (other than the real ones). 🙂
What makes me happy is being able to carve out any amount of time for my creative hobbies, whether it’s art journalling, sewing a baby quilt, making greeting cards or knotting hemp bracelets.

The things that make me happy are loving my husband, two beautiful gown up daughters, one son-in-law, my two kitties, my extended family and knitting, photography and making jewelry. (I hope my comment didn’t get posted twice, the comment box had a wibble when I tried to post earlier.)

  677. I love my children most of all, raising them has brought many laughs and a few tears too. lots of love debbie xxxxxx

  705. Too many things to list make me happy but I’ll start but probably won’t finish! Having two grown up happy children doing their own things and thoroughly enjoying life, a gem of a husband, being inspired by your blog – your little animals are works of art, the children I work with achieving their goals, knitting, inspiring children to knit, seeing all the lovely ladies at our local hospice craft group being so generous with their time and talent for the craft events they attend to raise funds and just being at home – I love it.

  706. Your animals are so beautiful. Why don’t mine ever look so good? You are so talented. Here’s wishing you many more years of blogging and creating.
    Anne

  711. Oh that’s so spooky there were 999 comments when I started to write this. On your worst days, you ate much loved, by your family and indeed by the blog world. Loved and read the magazine article. I would live to win a cotton rabbit creation. They remind me of the spirit to overcome and adapt on the face of adversity. 1000th comment? Who knows. 1000 messages telling you of your skills and well loved talents. X

  713. My husband, my cats. Finding time to knit.
Sometimes just being able to be still. Things are so hectic so often, time that is quiet and peaceful makes me happy.

  714. Like you, knitting with Radio 4 on in the background. Or Frank Skinner’s podcast on Absolute radio on my ipod. If there’s a cake in the oven or millionaire’s shortbread on the go then life’s pretty much perfect for me.

  715. Many things make me happy. As the mom of three young kids, one thing that makes me really happy is time home alone to read or knit with a great cup of hot coffee! I also love my two dogs snuggled on my lap.
    Your animals are amazing!!!!!!

  716. Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your very cute little animals!!!! I am most happy spending time with my family, gardening and cooking (but not the cleaning up!).

  717. I find your blog quite inspiring. You have a lot on your plate but remain mostly cheerful and make such lovely knitted and crocheted items. I think your family are lucky to have you holding everything together. I wish you happiness, strength and peace.
    Carol

  718. Your bunnies are so adorable! What makes me happy was my beautiful pet bunny, Pom Pom, who was ginger with grey – now no longer, so now it is our new little ball of fluff, Snow Cloud, so friendly like our last one that when I leave the room I have to be careful not to step on him! Thank you for giving the world your lovely creations.

  719. Spring, in the southern hemisphere here, makes me happy, getting back to nature amongst the flowers before the intense heat of the summer arrives! Love your work 🙂

  722. I’d love to have one!
I love quiet mornings when my five children are at school or sleeping.
I love my little corner of knitting and sewing in my sunny kitchen.

  723. What make’s me happy???
    Giving to others,
    Happy thoughts of quite moments
    Inspiring others
    Creating
    Pinterest
    Inspiring blogs
    Doing things just for me
    Sharing
    Meals with family and friends
Reading and watching movies with my boys
    Loving the person I am
    and…..
as I am an aged care nurse making a positive difference in everybody’s life I come into on a daily
    basis,
    and that’s just to name a few…….

  724. Your rabbits and just precious! I can see I need to get busier on my knitting skills, so that I can learn to knit such cute things for my grandchildren. I’m a long-time crocheter, but fairly new knitter. I’m glad I found your blog!

  725. Things from nature inspire me–like shells, nuts, acorns, grasses–and then I put them inside where they can mingle with little stuffed animals, embroidered pieces and small dolls. The things I loved as a kid I still love. Thanks for the chance to win one of your cutie-pie animals!

  726. I am inspired by other people’s talent and love looking through blogs at what people have been creating. It gives me inspiration to do projects I might not have thought of doing myself.

  727. Happy Anniversary!
Crafting, finished craft projects and relaxing with friends, having tea and treats make me happy.

  728. Your creations make me smile! Your bog is saved as a “Favorite” and not many are so you have reached that lofty position!!

  729. Hi! I really love your bunnies! Super cute! As for what makes me happy, well, I cannot live without my knitting. I’m also a geocacher who loves long walks in nature.

  730. I’ve followed your blog for over a year now but never left a comment, guess I’m just shy even over the internet. But this time, I will try my luck and hopefully win one of your precious animals. What makes me happy is spending time with the people I love, most of which are my family and close friends. As I’m writing this I’m looking forward to a day filled with one of my most favorite activities of the year. Today my parents, my sister, and me are heading to upstate New York for a day of apple and pumpkin picking. Probably one of the most memorable of our family traditions and even at age 26, I feel giddy with excitement. When we return home after enjoying a nice crisp fall day exploring the orchards, I will help my mom cook a delicious family dinner which will include the year’s first batch of our ever favorite recipe for pumpkin bread. It’s days like today that make me happy!

  731. I love blue skies, the sun shining and time to do some knitting.
Thanks for the chance to win a gorgeous creature.

  732. Evening sunshine, macaroni cheese and any kind of knitting make me happy. Oh, and the change of the seasons and Christmas. Most of all I’m happiest when those around me are happy too.

  733. Things that make me happy are walking in the Peak District, cozy winter nights, camping, making things and my husband.
    Happy 7th year!
    Claire

  734. Finishing the week’s lesson plans on Saturday tea time and knowing Sunday is just for me and my knitting needles.

  735. Seriously gorgeous bunnies! I’m just imagining how the hedgehogs will turn out 🙂 kudos for your patience & skills.. I tried making a badger recently (..well, the fox went okay so why not? Can’t be that much harder.. right?) after 4/5 incredibly frustrating days I’ve ended up with a huge bag full of very peculiar grey & cream shapes. Luckily I had mother coming to stay for a few weeks otherwise I may still be fighting with greys and my bag of odds might still be growing. Respect for your beautiful little creations!
I’ve been rather ill over the last 18 months, so appreciating the little things is great therapy, esp as Im 24 & rarely go out these days. So things that make me happy atm are good books, brilliant & supportive friends, my flegling hobbie of knitting and crochet, cranberry cookies, dare I say.. morphine..? hmm.. my growning yarn stash! I’m trying not to feel guilty about this so have to keep looking at all the power tools in the garage..

  736. It’s a rainy day and I have a roast to prepare, today we are having roast pork with crunchy crackling and homemade apple sauce. I also plan to make some time for knitting always a treat when the weather is gloomy – at the moment I am knitting easy bunting for the pre-school book area which is a real treat after my last project which was a challening knitted union jack – sometimes its nice not to have to think too much about a pattern and let your mind wander to other things. Have a great Sunday everyone.
    Davina x

  737. I love your creations, they have to be the cutest on the internet, as to what makes me happy – I enjoy any kind of crafting and really enjoy challenging myself to learn new crafts, at the moment I’m teaching myself to crochet.

  738. Oh, they are so adorable! Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Your rabbits make me happy, as well as Pilates, walking with my dog in the sunshine and scones with fresh jam and cream. 🙂

  739. I love seeing your photos of the finished Little Cotton Rabbits. They make me so happy. I had to look twice to see how you managed it… then I realized you used drawers. How very clever. Congratulations on the new completed batch of bunnies.
Autumn makes me happy. I love the cool, crisp air. I love watching the leaves change color. I love being outside with a sweater or fleece and a handknit hat. I love apple picking with my family – and then our traditional week long activity of making apple butter. Fall makes me happy!

  740. You are a brave and very talanted whoman, you truly make sweetest animals and bring joy not only to kids but for adults, who doesn’t love them? God blesses you, your child and all your family.

  741. What makes me happy : the sun on my skin, the laugh of my son and to see him growing, the eyes of my husband when he looks at me, the nature, good eating and lovely and pretty things as your little knitted friends. So perfects !

of your bunnies to sit on my new white bed x

  747. Wow! What an impressive number of comments! I was going to say “incredible” but then I thought about it and decided it wasn’t incredible at all that so many people would leap at the chance to win one of your amazing creations – but goodness, you have to read them all!! Thank heavens for automatic number generators – imagine having to write out all those names!
What makes me happy – sunshine and flowers and my family and fabric and yarn and a good book and of course my chickens!!!
    Much love, Lucy xx

  748. I try to check every day to see what you have created, Julie. You actually inspired me to take up needles again after many years away from them. This time I decided to just use one needle and try to teach myself how to crochet. My grandmother was so skilled at all needlework but alas, I was not interested in learning any of her techniques when I was younger. Now I wish so much that I had her help when I run into difficulty understanding a pattern or stitch.
What makes me happy …. spending time with my husband walking our whippets, especially now with our beautiful autumn weather. I do volunteer work with a nature organization which helps me to feel very happy and fulfilled as well.

  749. My children and the Blue September Skies are my current sources of cheer and peace. Followed closely by crisp mornings with a cup of tea and watching the birds at the feeders. Then of course there’s your fuzzy little critters (and the scarves and mittens you knit for yourself) and the little snippets of life with Toby that inspire me as well.

  750. Another beautiful & cute little batch of friends Julie.
Downtime with friends, Illustrating, photography, bunnies, animals, cute things, crisp days, autumn sunshine, & generally chilling. Just a few things that make me happy! x

  751. A good cup of coffee, a new ball of wool, a walk with the dogs whatever the weather and most of all I am indebted to the many friends who have rallied round and have kept me happy after the premature death of my much loved husband.
All good wishes to you Julie, your family and your lovely, lovely rabbits.

  752. Love your cotton pickin’ little rabbits. Crafting with my two daughters makes me HAPPY! Be it stitching, patchworking, baking, scrapbooking or painting 🙂 x

  753. my son, he’s helped me get through a tough year after my husband was made redundant and our family of 5 became reliant on extended family…. he’s nearly one and a ray of sunshine.

  754. Making my citrus scones or a dutch apple cake makes me deliriously happy. So does reading this blog and dreaming of getting a LCR – one with a primrose yellow dress perhaps…..

  755. What makes me happy? Of course, my family and my faith in God and Jesus Christ, but kniting makes me happy although I don’t do it as well as you do. I’m knitting a pair of blue booties and I now have 8 done and they are all different. I am ripping some of them back hopefully to get 2 alike. I’m in awe over your bunnies.

  756. What makes me happy? Sewing, drawing, painting and making with my nearly 5 year old daughter. Well actually, she just makes me happy – doing the things I love with the person I love most in the world is the icing on the cake I suppose.

  766. I love cross-stich: it is such fun to see a design come alive, one stitch at time. When fall comes, I am happy to sit by the fire, stitch away, and forget the crazy world out there ;+) Thank you for the beautiful “family” picture!

  767. My new found love is quilting! And in particular the spider web quilt I have just started, which seems very appropriate at the moment, what with all the webs I keep inadvertently walking into when I’m in the garden.

  770. Julie your animals are exquisite. I also love your cupcake and hedgehog pattern on etsy. I’ve only just discovered this blog. Lovely. I would happily pay the shipping to U.S. if you should pick me.
Knitting makes me happy – finishing a project – cup of tea in the afternoon, cup of espresso with a bit of foam in the morning while in my pajamas, travel, growing and eating my own vegies, nature, beautiful music, paintings, people who are passionate about what they do, a good book and the list goes on and on, kind people, my daughters.

  771. Many congratulations on your anniversary!
    Things that make me happy…

    2. the sea
    3. the countryside
    4. a day out with my brother and partner
    5. finding a bit of chocolate that I had hidden and forgotten about!
    6. the fact that I have finally found something that relaxes me and its something that I knew how to do and had forgotten about – knitting – especially the little hedgehogs from the pattern that you wrote.
    7. The happy faces on those who are given the little hedgehogs!
    8. Reading blogs

  783. I have read your blog for several years now and love, love, love your bunnies and other animals. I love when happiness surprises me, as I am trudging through life and something makes me smile, a childs smile, a soft wind, a co-workers laugh. Many things make me happy and it is different every time.

  786. Thank you for the joy you create in these littles critters! You use your talents well and I hope they are always well loved in their new homes! God’s blessings!

  787. What makes me smile – every time a little person marches off with a knitted hedgehog from my soft toy basket. They really are irresistable, so I let them take it home. Then I have an excuse to knit some cute new ones.
Look at that foxy girl in her green dress – she’s up to some mischief, you can tell!

  788. this is inspirational. As a lapsed crafter these are so sweet.
    My inspirations are
My family, my cats and a love of life and all things made with love

  789. Hi Julie,
thanks again for the oppurtunity to own one of your absolutely beautiful creations! They are amazing.
What makes me happy is listening to my daughter sing and crafting.
    Have a lovely day.

  790. I absolutely love a day where i have nothing important to do and it’s horribly rainy and cold outside so i can get on with some sewing and get crafty making some bits and bobs 🙂
I’ve always admired your knitting, really do think one of your little animals would fit in perfectly in my home 🙂
    Hollie xxx

  791. My niece Elsie makes me happy and I love knitting for her. I think Elsie would love one of your knitted animals, they are so cute!

  792. I like to sit down, certainly in autumn and winter , cup of tea at hand, do a little crochet, sew a bit. But i wish I could knit like you do, all those lovely animals!

  793. Hi! The things that make me happy are peace and quiet, knitting, a walk on the beach or a beautiful mountain view. Last but not least – my family and little grandchild.

  794. I love knitting on a project that I’m excited about with a nice up of coffee while listening to a book on tape or the radio. That’s a spot of happiness in my day. Reading your blog always makes me happy too. Your work is beautiful.

  795. Would love to win….but so many comments have been left; no wonder, considering the prize! thanks for sharing your art.

  796. So lovely.
Things that make me happy. Knitting, baking, trying new crafts (most recently hand sewing hexagons – so peaceful), cross stitch, making Christmas presents, rainbows, bluebells and chatting with friends. So many things make me happy including, of course, your blog (love it).
    Happy 7th blog-birthday.

  797. Simple things make me happy. Looking out of an open window and feeling the breeze on my face makes me feel alive. A snatched 30mins with a cup of coffee and needles in my hand – bliss. Happy clicking to all.

  798. I so enjoy your blog, Julie. Your creativity is inspiring. What makes me happy is colour – I see it everywhere, and try to capture it in my feeble craft-making efforts.

  799. I adore your bunnies and would love to have one in my home too! I think what makes me happy the most is travelling to interesting places around the world!

  800. Wow your animals are so cute, my daughter has fallen in love with the elephant and has insisted we leave you a comment. Your blog gives me inspiration i am in the middle of making my own version of your Misty blanket, it’s the colours that do it for me. My happy moments are when you can snatch the odd crafty hour to let your needles go clickety click (heaven).

  801. Making something with my hands…knitting, a painting, growing something in the garden, baking a cake. Oh, and listening to music that makes my heart sing 🙂

  802. things that make me happy: a proper cup of coffee made by someone else, and the time to sit down and enjoy it, being cozy when it’s chilly outside, and cuddles from my 10-year old daughter, who is starting to get “far too grown up to need cuddles”!

  803. Wow Julie what alot of comments you received!! Mind you im not suprised at all. Your little rabbits are so gorgeous and cute. I would sooo like to win one but i dont think i will
    😦

    Take care Julie
    Love Carole from Rossendale xxxx

  804. I absolutely adore your rabbits and what a talented lady you are.
I enjoy cups of tea, knitting and craft and my garden.
I can’t wait to see your next batch!!

  805. I think I have been trying to buy one of your rabbits since 2005 or 2006. My goodness that is a long time. What do I like? Stitching, embroidery, my family, my friends. All the simple pleasures.

  806. Oh what wonderful rabbits – wouldn’t it be lovely to own one. They all look gorgeous. The lovely autumn colours in gentle sunshine really lift my heart, and when they have fallen I cannot resist scrunching them when walking. Guess it will be a few days before this can happen with all the rain we all seem to be having in the UK. Look forward to seeing all your lovelies in more detail when they are for sale.

  807. My 31 year old autistic son is coming to the end of his stay with me here in France. I brought him back with me on 10th September at the end of a few days in London staying with my other son and visiting the Paralympics, which we really enjoyed. We have had a really good time, he has been very helpful, stacking logs and helping me clear the barn which I have filled with ten years of junk, but he is now ready to go “home” to Somerset where he lives in a lovely house with other young adults and leads a busy life. So, tomorrow, I’ll hand him over to the Easyjet staff who will put him on the plane to Bristol, and although I’ll feel sad that’s he has gone, I’ll be happy that he is settled and has friends with whom to share his life. He’ll be back at Christmas.

  808. Little Cotton Rabbits make me happy! Mostly if i’m sat under a blanket, tea in hand and a cat curled up at my side!

  809. 5 minutes sit down to myself means a chance to drool over flickr/instagram and blogs…..to recharge the creative batteries to get me through the the tenser times!
your animals look SO FULl of personality!!

  810. awwww, these lovies are so sweet.
I’m blessed with with the soul saving ability to find beauty wherever I go, so there are a ton of little things that make me happy. To name a few: the goofy squirrels chasing each other on the top of the picket fence, how my cat bumps me with his head when he wants attention, my 14 month old grandson, when he says “hi” and waves with his palm facing himself, the colours of autumn, trees that incorporate odd things like fences and rocks as they grow, the foghorn from the bay on snowy night

  811. So adorable! Love, love, love the elephant!
Music makes me happy. It has always helped make the black cloud over my head a little less black and sometimes even turns it into a puffy white cloud.

  812. I love your blog. I visit several times a week (so I don’t miss anything). I love your bunnies, they are so adorable. My sister and I loved them the first time we ever saw them.
I wish you had a book out too. It would be wonderful. I also love to hear about your family. You are a very kind and loving person.
I love to knit, crochet, quilt and make jewelery.
Life and my family make me very happy.
I’m so glad I found your blog.
God Bless you and Happy Anniversary.
    Best wishes,
    Aunt Bea

  813. Oh I’ve found this post just in time! I would love one of these little knitted pretties of yours.
Spending time with my family and eating treacle sponge with custard makes me happy. So does sewing, crocheting, reading and kissing…. as long as I’m warm! 🙂
    Have a good week. xxx

  820. Your rabbits are wonderful, and oh, those foxes! My children and spaniels make me happy – and knitting and hand-written letters in coloured envelopes. Happy blog anniversary!

  821. Love your bunnies. Happiness for me is lots of things – looking at clever and creative blogs that inspire, watching my 2 cats sunbathing, a cup of tea in the garden when home from work, a good book, a walk on the south coast beaches at the weekend and a hug from my husband, plus much more. Thanks for such lovely pictures and inspiration.

  822. I hope I am sill in time to make my comment and in with a chance to receive one of your wonderful animals. I am quite new to knitting, my mum taught me when I was little but it is only in the last 2 years I have rediscovered the wonderful therapy which calms me when I am stressed and helps to put lifes worries into perspective. What makes me happy, well knitting of course and having my family around me. With them I feel I can take on the world. The simple things make me smile, dancing round the kitchen with my girls, salt and vinigar crisps with a jar of cockles, dandilion and burdock and singing Honky Tonk Women by the Pogues as loud as we can with my wonderful long suffering husband.

  823. Another lovely post, more beautiful creations and a gorgeous photograph – your blog is truly a joy to read. What makes me happy is that feeling I get when i’ve just finished all my chores, when I know that the family is happy (when they’ve been fed and watered usually 🙂 )and when I get that wonderful moment to recline with a cuppa and some reading material or craft item of some description…bliss. If my family are with me when this happens, it’s even better.

  824. I loved a rabbit with a carrot between her paws. She was called Myfanwy and of course she was real. She was given to the Dr Barnardo’s home, which I knew I shouldn’t have minded. But I wasn’t asked first.

  825. Your little animals are just so sweet. I can’t resist looking at your blog frequently just to see their sweet faces. I love the monkeys! Some little things that make me happy are jam on toast with a hot cup of tea, knitting, reading, and watching my daughter dance.

  826. Julie,
I am happy when I see the wonderful photos of your work. Your creations are delightful and your blog is the only one I read. It’s one of life’s little pleasures. Thank you

  827. Oh my goodness! Over a thousand comments! LOL!
Well you asked what little things make me happy….
I’m afraid going into autumn and winter isn’t one of them 😦
I love sitting in the garden with a shawl round me, drinking tea and watching the sun set…. I didn’t get to do this much this year as we had so many mosquitoes I got bitten every time I went out!!!!
I also like doodling and drawing with colour pencil, and I’m thinking of making some ACEOs to sell and some books out of felt, little ones… my beloved pusscat passed away 😦 he was my joy! -so I want to make a little book for his memory…
It has been hard lately, and creative things help… looking at creative blogs helps too!!!!! And I so love your bunny wabbits 🙂

  828. Love your work Julie! Congratulations with your blog’s birthday! What makes me happy is seeing my child happy, friendships and the ‘smaller’ things in life, like sunsets and the smell of autumn in the woods when I walk my dog.

  829. Walking on the beach with Walter, knitting, autumn light, bonfees an woodsmoke….shall I go on?
Happy blogging, Julie, always a pleasure to vsit here!
    Diana x
    (pebbledash…..I’ve changed my blog name!)

  830. Cutest bunnies (…and foxes!) ever.
What makes me happy is picking seeds from the catalogue, planning next year’s vegetable garden. Gets us through the cold, Canadian winters. Cheers for your blog!

  831. I would love to win one of your wonderful animals! Right now knitting is what makes me really happy and grounded. I have explored many crafts but I love the portability of knitting. I love to knit for others and pass on the joy. Thanks for blogging. I love to read your entries.

  832. I love crochet and how it puts a smile on my loved ones’ faces when I give them something that I’ve made. Crocheting is also the perfect way to wind down after a day’s work!

  833. A free calendar, being on our own schedule, staying home, knitting, and grandchildren – Not necessarily in that order.

  834. I found your Blog about 9 months ago and it is so nice to stop by and be inspired or just check in and see all of the beautiful things that are growing or being Knit and to see how your family is.
    Thank you for sharing .
My favorite days are spending the day cooking, knitting and listening to garrison Keilor on the radio while the dog snuggles up to me.
I wish you another 7 years of wonderful Blogging.

  835. I’m happy with my nose in a book and my children nearby and maybe some lovely rain outside to make inside feel more cozy.

  836. Little happy things: A drive up the canyon to see the fall colors with my family. Fresh peaches, peeled by my husband because he knows I prefer them that way. Words my children mispronounce. Finding a child’s toy in my purse. Feeling my unborn baby move. Fixing a dinner that my husband loves.

  837. Hi just found your blog and I must say your work is so beautiful.
As i unfortunatley suffer from depression It’s hard to find anything!!! However I have just started to knit which I am getting addicted to which for me is fantastic! xxx

  838. Little things which make me happy are the smell of wet sand, the sound of the sea, log fires, my stash and, like you, peace and quiet. Thanks for sharing your bunnies with us.

  839. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, actually anything to do with arts and crafts makes me happy! I love to visit your blog and I wish you the best for the upcoming 7th year, thank you for the awesome giveaway!

  840. Your rabbits are gorgeous, I love knitting, crocheting and thinking about what I’ll be making next. I also have 4 mad real life bunnies who always bring a smile to my face 🙂 x

  841. Wow! You are truly talented…I’m happy your talent gives you so much happiness! Fall makes me happy. I love everything about it! The food, the clothes and mostly the weather!

  842. I think your little rabbits are so adorable. Very sweet little faces with beautiful dresses. I love that you make each one special. I really love knitting for my 3 little girls. I love to knit blankets to wrap them up in. Glad you are still blogging after all these years. I always look forward to seeing your new little rabbits.
