(and yes, that is actually sunshine sparkling off the strands of web) – summer has arrived here at last.

And in between looking after home and family I've been sitting in the shade at the end of the garden and trying to finish off the pattern for the little pouch that I promised all of you lovely people back in April!

It's still in progress but hopefully will be done soon!

It's been mostly a happy, relaxing week now that summer has arrived properly. Hope you can say the same for your week too.

The misty is still growing, one square at a time

Misty july

and I’m starting to think that it will look good draped over the sofabed that we bought last year to help us deal with having Toby awake so much at night. I’m glad that we have it because now H and I can take it in turns to get a decent sleep upstairs while the other is ‘sleeping’ here with Toby, but as a piece of furniture it sure is ugly!

Sofabed

Now I’m just trying to decide whether to have the throw draped over the back or to make it large enough to cover the whole flipping thing!

Sofa2

I shall keep one-a-daying until I decide.

Well, the school summer holidays are nearly upon us and I’m feeling both unprepared and unenthusiastic. The prospect of keeping Toby entertained for so long is an unsettling one, especially if we don’t get some dry weather soon. So I’m making like an ostrich with her head in the sand and spending the last few quiet days hiding away in a peaceful corner with my knitting.

I hope to pop in here as often as possible but I do expect to fall behind with my blog reading. So, here’s wishing you a good few weeks and hope to see you soon x
