According to my calendar, today is officially the first day of spring here in the UK. The sign that spring has arrived in our garden is always the blossoming of an old plum tree.
One week ago::
Today::
Last year it suffered the loss of a major bough but it seems to have survived and hopefully some of the blossoms will yield some juicy plums for jam making later in the year.
Even Toby has been noticing that the trees are changing on our regular weekend walks!

I was surprised to see so much blossom when I drove to see a friend yesterday – nothing’s in blossom in our immediate area. Toby looks as if the walk has been bracing!

There are so many signs of spring now, it’s wonderful. Even the word ‘spring’ is a tonic in it’s self!

We had a plum tree too, a wildish one that sent one arching branch out over the yard from our thicket. And it, too, was always the first sign of spring. I don’t know what happened to that little tree. I think it finally died. The plums in the thicket were all old before we moved here, thirty years ago. I’d forgotten it till you wrote about yours. And I’m sad now. Because I loved that branch.

I think everyone is really enjoying the arrival of spring this year. It was such a glorious weekend here and we finally got some jobs done in the garden.
It’s so good to feel the sun’s warmth on your face and it looks like Toby’s enjoying just that :o)

The blossoms are beautiful but not as beautiful as the blossoms on Toby’s cheeks. Such a beautiful sweet boy. If I didn’t scare him to death I would give him a kiss on those sweet rosy cheeks of his. The look on his face…… precious boy.

We have a snow day today so there is no school. My daffodils were up but I bet they ran back underground after experiencing 20 cm of snow overnight.

Hello, I haven’t visited in awhile was catching up on your post when I saw the bad comment someone left.
I have to say I can not blame you for wondering why. I look at it this way I gave birth to handicap twins with autism, everyday has been a challenge, some days I want scream and often find myself complaining a bit.
But knowing how intelligent your are as by the way your bunnies look it’s obvious, asking why someone would do that is like asking why are babies are born as they are…you really never find the why as there isn’t one it just is what it is and we go on as best we can.
There are good days and bad I find and just take them as they come. Knitting or crocheting relaxes me too. Only just the little time you get doesn’t quite often seem to be enough. Something no one can understand unless they have walked in your shoes.
I use to let people get to me that made needless cruel comments and I know it hurts not only for you but more for your child who has the disability as that’s where your heart lies. Do the best you can and let the comment slid off your heart as your son needs all you have to give not someone you don’t know. And often finding enough energy is so diffucult as parents with handicap children most often run on empty.
I don’t often take the best care of my personal appearance either, all we can do is again the best we can. Blessings your way.

I visited Kew Gardens last week and delighted in the carpet of bluebells! Spring is amazing for me as in India we don’t have spring as such! It’s winter and then summer – a hot summer though we have the magnificent flame of the forest in bloom and the nights are fragrant with a creeper we call raat ki rani – queen of the night.
And like Zoe and others I think Toby looks adorable: God Bless
