Forgive me for banging on about my veg patch again but it really amazes me how quickly things grow at this time of year. I took these pictures a month apart and the difference is huge (the left-hand ones are from May and the right-hand were taken yesterday)
I do get quite excited by the first picking of our fruit and veg. I love these translucent mangetout and they're all ready to be snapped
off and lightly steamed – yum!
Later this week we'll be able to pick the first of the courgettes and french beans and the strawberries are still going strong.
There are flowers too – I do so love this time of year in the garden!

t beleive im the first comment. Your garden always seems so lovely and productive. I have just a small back garden. but im managing some pattie pan squashes and some tomatoes in pots. I dont think Asda will be worried. But i do like your organisation. i would love a raised bed to grow veg as i do have arthritis. Enjoy your garden.Love Carole from Rossendale xxxx

Reading your post makes my mouth water. The mange tout do look very tempting. I’ve got red Peppers on the go at the minute and potatoes. My first attempt at growing my own produce. I don’t know how mine will turn out but I’ll be well pleased if I have half of your success – well done and enjoy those strawberries!

It’s amazing for me that you are so neat and organize even though you have two kids and one needs even more attention, with only one toddler I feel paralized,good for you, I should learn from you.

I’m quite envious , our little veg patch failed miserably, the cat ate the radishes and only 1 sweet pea appeared. Our tomatoes and cherries are flourishing though..

Wow Julie, those strawberries look fantastic and I’m sure they have a taste to match!
My tomatoes are all coming into bloom, so looking forward to them and we have already eaten some of our courgettes. Nothing tastes like homegrown!

I’d get excited too if I had a little space to grow my own veggies! We were out last week and bought new potatoes and fresh peas in their pods…delicious!

Hi there! think yo’re within your rights to shout out about your garden, it looks fantastic, so much growing that is going to be delicious! We’ve been enjoying the strawberries here on the hill too, but my last surviving courgette plant still is all flower and no fruit yet, fingers crossed though!

Don’t apoplogise for showing us your garden again it’s great to see it doing so well. I have harvested two small cucumbers from my plant on the kitchen window sill. Not sure if there will be any more from it – I think the pot is too small. I love French beans and your strawberries look delicious – obviously worth all the hard work.
