We had a busy weekend with a lot of ballet rehersals for Amy. There's only a week to go before her ballet school perform Cinderella at the local theatre and Amy is Cinderella's shadow (as you might imagine she's very excited!) So that meant a lot of sitting around for me – not too bad when you've got a bag full of crochet to keep you busy! I'm working on lots of different bits at the moment which I hope will one day become a collection of cushions!
There was also a little garden time. Everything is growing like mad and there are loads of strawberries ripening.
We learnt our lesson from last year and picked them quick before the birds or the slugs could tuck into them.
They tasted good!

PS: the crochet cushions above are all based on the summer garden granny square pattern from Attic24's blog
The strawberries look delicious – very tasty with a little drop of cream!.
Break a leg with Cinderella too!

we’ve had the problem of birds eating our strawberries, we’re just having to pcik them real quick! The woodlice like them too which is a nuisance. Love the crochet – there seems to be a lot of blogging about it at the moment and I have even started the ripple pattern from Attic24, something about all her colours really makes you want to have a go!

I love the soft colours of your crochet – very summery – as are, of course, the strawberries. Don’t they taste delicious straight out of the garden? We’ve had a few this week – first time I’ve grown them.

And I’m so sad to be missing the strawberries on the allotment this year. Wonder if I could persuade G to freeze some for me?

I remember my own ballet. All dressed in black including tutu – and a silver tinsel crown. I was gorgeous. Your crochet reminds me of quilting somehow – or of flower gardens. And your strawberry plants – sigh. I could send you a picture of our ravaged, flooded, hopeless dirt plot. New Strawberries and cream. Oh, and shortcake –

Ha ha! Your crochet pile looks like mine, lots of little projects that are heading towards a few final goals. My boy says I try and do too many things at once. I know I just get bored easily so lots of little things keep me happy. 🙂

Your crochet work is beautiful. My daughter is a dancer, too. She’s 15 and is still as keen as ever to be a dancer. She hopes to get a scholarship next year for a dance school. Fingers crossed for Amy’s performance, dance is such a beautiful form of art. I love it. xx
