sunday afternoon

It's been lovely and spring-like here this afternoon, appropriate for the first day after the clocks change for summer time.

Garden

Toby and I have been in the garden most of the afternoon – I've been
planting out my lettuce seedlings, onion sets and sowing some carrot seeds
and Toby has been swinging, bouncing and running around in his jammies
and wellies!

Toby

He's also had fun helping feed the girls.

Ladies

It's lovely to be out in the fresh air together and to kick off our veg growing season for this year.

  1. I’m desperate to get out and get my veg beds going again… have to finish this current degree module first though. Only one more week to go!

  2. Looks like a wonderful day. We are still quite chilly after some snow this past week. The daffodils are smiling, but wary of weather to come. The day is cloudy and I am snuggled up on the sofa grading essays. We are wishing for spring still here in the Ozarks. ~Kelly

  3. Lovely back yard (or garden – oh, that strikes me funny – what I would normally call a yard, you normally call a garden. But now – here you are, actually planting these lovely grow boxes. Should I call them a yard?). I am not a gardener, but I can feel in my mind the sweetness of planting seedlings in the dark loam, and the warmth under the plastic domes. Toby looks so peaceful there in the sun. Our sun is slightly spoiled by being thinned out with the chill wind.
The horses are brightening up, though – and shedding buckets.

  4. Your garden looks lovely sans snow 🙂 It still looks pretty ‘brisk’ as my dad would say, which to me always meant Freezing!! Sundays and PJ’s are just brilliant aren’t they! Enjoy the change in the seasons.

  5. that sounds quite a lot like our saturday! except i was mostly inside while aaron was outside in the garden, and there were two boys swinging and mucking about.
pj’s + wellies are most boys’ perfect outfits, I think.

  6. Lovely day here too, and the spring flowers are gorgeous… but it’s still “THIN” here i.e. not warm enough to plant out yet! Great to see Toby better.

  7. A lovely way to spend the afternoon. The snow has all gone here, so I raked my grass in preparation for spring. I’d love to grow some veggies this year, but the squirrels get everything!

  8. I always get loads of housework done while I’m still in my nightie! Then off for a shower and somehow it feels s though the work was done before the real day started.
Glad to see the chickens looking so fine.

  10. Cute pics! Since we’re on this little mountain with essentially no neighbors, quite often I go out to feed the chickens in my pajamas and farm wellies as well!

  11. Look at how tall Toby’s getting! things are cooling down around here. The edge has gone from the sun. The days are shorter and the rain has started. Your little bunny cozies were so pretty. Too hard to find a favourite. I hope they are treasured by their lucky new families!
    Cheers
