I know that I always bang on about blossom at this time of year but plum blossom is the first indication that spring has arrived again in our little garden and that makes me very happy. Toby is an outdoorsy kind of boy and life in the warmer weather is more relaxed and fun for him, so I'm cheered by the lovely thought of all of those warm and sunny days to come with paddling pool splashing, bubble chasing, tea in the garden and a bit of knitting in the sun for me of course!
Anyway, with spring and Easter in mind I've finished off the egg cosy pattern.
It will be available in my etsy pattern shop before the end of the week but if you'd like to win a free copy of this pattern in advance then please leave a comment below and I'll draw 20 winners first thing on Thursday morning.
Sorry but comments are now closed, 9.25am,Thursday March 19th

Blossom time is a very special time of the year and we love it too, down here. Our geranium vases are back out on the balconies in the sun light and now we’re waiting to see the first rose buds of this spring! Your egg cosy is simply adorable, the most lovely little face around – thank you for the kind giveaway and most of all for making the pattern available on Etsy. I just can’t wait to try to knit one! Oh, Julie. How wonderful that you’re back in the saddle. Our blossoms aren’t out yet, but I rode my colt for the first real time two days ago, and that’s almost as good. I have almost forgotten spring. I’ve taken so many pictures of hoar frost and fog, freezing horses and snow covered dogs, I’d nearly forgotten that spring will come. And with it – happily – an email from you. I don’t think you should probably send me one of the patterns because I’m in the US, and it would cost too much. But please accept this very delighted return of your spring greeting and my best wishes for those blossoms. May there be no late frost.

It’s a delight to look at your cute creations. The last egg cosy bunny photo with the spindly leg egg cup made me squeal. My son caught the sun out on the field today at a tag rugby tournament so maybe this week is sprummer. Do your chickens lay more eggs when it’s warm?
Best Wishes

You have the most amazing talent. I have been in awe since I found your blog. I have made most of your free patterns. I bring my finished items to work, and let the girls drool over them. Your patterns are easy to follow and I have never had a problem creating a work of art. I look forward to what you have for us to knit next!

Hi Julie!
Wow, your Easter Bunny is so adorable, please put me in your draw to win the pattern. I would just like to thank you for your wonderful work and blog. I emigrated to Australia last year and you have kept me company through some very lonely and difficult times. You truely are an inspiration. I couldn’t wait for my container to arrive so I could unpack my knitting bag fter many years of gathering dust!! Keep up your beautiful work….
A very thankful fan

Hi Julie
I cannot believe how many commenters come out for a give away!
I am joining the ranks in the hope of being able to do a little easter knitting. So cute. I can see these on the breakfast table over the easter break.
I love the start of spring, the pretty flowers and the opportunity to throw the kids out into the garden once more. We had thought we were heading into autumn here in Melbourne (such a relief after the bushfires this year) but its high 20’s today and up to 30 on the weekend.
