Happy Birthday Mum!

Quite a few people have asked me recently how my Mum is doing after her awful accident last autumn. Since today is her birthday (Happy Birthday Mum!) I though I’d give you a quick update. She’s now out of her support collar completely and although she still has pain from an incompletely healed vertebrae in her back she is mobile and getting on with some of the activities that she’s always loved like country walks and she’s started driving again. She’s waiting to hear what the specialist advises about the problematic vertebrae and we’ve got our fingers crossed that it will heal without the need for further intervention. She’s been such an inspiration with her determination to recover quickly and I’m so proud that she’s kept going with such a positive attitude!

Anyway Mum, hope you’ve had a lovely day x

Lastly, I couldn’t go without mentioning that the lovely Jenny at Frazzy Dazzles is having a very cute giveaway at the moment

  2. I’ve found your blog some time ago and I just loved it. Apart from your cute rabbits it’s your wonderful personality that makes this blog unique.
It’s my birthady today too, so I thought it would be a good moment to post my first comment to wish your mum all the best. Happy birthday to your mum!

  3. So glad to hear your mum is doing well – I wasn’t reading your blog at the time. Please reassure her that she’s not the only mum in the world to fall out of the loft – mine in her mid 70s was helping my dad fit a new water tank and stood on the closed trap door which opened and propelled her downwards – fortunately for her only one story as they live in a bungalow, but she got badly caught up on the ladder and broke ribs and her ankle in 3 places. 8 years later and she’s doing fine. So very glad that your mum is back to being able to walk and drive and resume normalish life. Fingers crossed for the remaining verterbrae being sorted and the pain stopping.

  5. Hi Julie,
I am so very happy to hear that your mum is doing so well. My heart dropped when you told what a horrible fall she had. I think it is a testament to how fit she was at the time that she was able to begin her recovery so quickly and continue it so well. Best wishes to her for her special day. And to you Julie. Thank you so so much for putting a link to my blog and my giveaway. I have never been suprised by your generosity of time or thought. How could someone who makes such wonderful little creatures be anything but. But I have always been thankful for the emails you have sent me and bits of advice as I have asked for it along the way. Thanks again. I am more determined than ever to get a little cotton rabbit now! Wanna swap a mousling?…or maybe a doll? Ha! Thank you – Jen
