general stuff

mess!

At the moment I can’t think straight as our house is a tip. Our sun room is being gutted so is out of bounds, our dining room has disappeared under stacks of books and there are piles of homeless stuff everywhere.

Mess

I know it’ll be worth it in the end though and I am very grateful to
have a ‘good-with-his-hands’ husband – I’m just wishing we hadn’t
picked the school holidays to get started on this! Roll on next monday!

  1. Well, like you said it will be worth it in the end! I’ll soon be doing the same thing in a sunroom that needs all the windows replaced! Have you ever seen the movie’ The Money Pit’ with Tom Hanks? It’s hilarious

  2. I don’t see any knitting books…
…wait maybe the spiral journal at the top of the middle pile is a LCR book of notes to be published into patterns?

  6. You are the first person I’ve come across to also own ‘A Prayer for Owen Meany’ – one of my favourites books ever. Your mess is still tidier than my house…..sigh!

  8. I know just how you feel! We have just puchased a new lounge suite for our back room but we are also looking after my brother-in-laws furnature while they build a new house and so I have double the amount of stuff all over the place. It’s just so frustrating when I have the urege to tidy and ther is just no point!
Hope you’re enjoying the slow mornings.

  11. Oh! I would love a Sun Room! Jealousy running rampant. I just wish that I had more room. I’m so happy that you seem to be doing better…thank you for the kind e-mail as well.
My Dad was a Contractor…our house was in a state of “fixer-upness” a lot! I completely understand! 🙂

  12. Oh dear … it will get better I’m sure, with a clever husband. I am also a traveller that ended up in Holland instead of Italy. It is hard but there are lots of friendly faces in Holland and listening ears.

  13. Yes very funny how many of us clearly enlarged the photo to get a butchers at the reading material. Very impressively high brow!
I am just at the point of choosing some reading to take on my holidays in three weeks time which incidentally really is to Holland (via France).

  14. My house always looks like this. I’d call it tidy because it can and does get worse sometimes. What I like is when you find things you thought you’d lost – it’s a bit like Christmas! Good luck with the building works – the worst bit is all the dust.

  19. OMG – you should see the state of my dining room. It’s nowhere near as neat as yours! It contains all the stuff that was previously in the spare room, which is currently occupied by a returned daughter. GOSH, I can’t believe how much STUFF I have!
