200th Post

Julie (little Cotton Rabbits)

I can't believe this has come around so quickly. When I first started I wasn't sure how long I'd stick at blogging but visiting other blogs and reading all of the wonderful comments that people leave here has become a really important part of my day. Thanks so much for visiting, leaving comments and for the encouragement and support that you offer me.

To celebrate I'd like to give away a toy at random so if you'd like to win it please just leave a comment below (just say Hi if nothing else comes to mind but be sure to leave a contact email). I'll leave this post up for the next week and then use a random generator thingy to pick a winner on Wednesday March 26th. The winner can then choose what regular sized toy they'd like me to make for them.

I've been playing with mice again this week and have made another prototype head with a pointier nose and completely pink ears. I think I'm happy with it at last, so mice are now on the menu!

I have to say that I am in love with this little mouse….I think the profile reminds me a little of the Brambly Hedge mice…who in my opinion are some of the cutest mice I have ever seen…So in my eyes this little mouse is a winner!     I check your blog EVERY day! I love reading knitting blogs and books as much as I love knitting! I must tell you I have not found toys I like any better than yours. I have purchased several patterns nothing comes out as cute. I don’t know if it is your pattern that is so great or my knitting that isn’t! My greatest aspiration with knitting is to be able to make sweet little animals as you do. The colors you choose are a huge part of it. You are a true artist.     Your bunnies are just adorable…and the latest mouse is perfect (the pointer nose does wonders – well done!)

    After reading your post about the ‘Hello Children Everywhere’ CD, I was prompted to go out and buy the 3CD set.
    Me and my children aged 7, 16 and 20, ended up sitting round the kitchen table having a good old sing song and a great laugh about all the old songs and rhymes which we had forgotten we had forgotten!! Such good fun! Thanks for recommending it.

I love pandas and had one as a child but when it began to fall apart my mum threw it away.   358. Hi. Thank you for sharing your amazing creations. My son was diagnosed with a learning disorder a few days ago, and part of his occupational therapy will include sensory integration. I’m just learning to knit, but I hope to one day make him his own knitted monkey (’cause he’s my little monkey) that I plan to put little weights in, because the pressure from the weight brings sensory comfort.

I immediately loved your creatures and its good to read about someone else’s experience of living with autism. I have a nephew who has autism.   680. I have been reading your blog for a while now (9 months I think) and have been really inspired by the positive attitude, creativity and dignity you bring to parenting Amy and Toby. Love the toys too! I don’t know quite why you should give away a toy to us as well as your writing, but as you’re offering, yes please count me in! I’m currently impatiently awaiting the arrival of our third daughter – 41 weeks pregnant and counting – and if I get lucky, this will be a lovely toy for her I think.
