Thanks for all the good wishes for Mother’s day (the UK one). I had a lovely quiet morning with breakfast in bed and some wonderful handmade cards – 2 from Amy and a sparkly one that Toby ‘made’ at school (I had a sneaking suspicion it was going to be sparkly when I found a load of sequins in his poo on Thursday!!)
Amy and I had great fun playing with the new Little Cotton Rabbit stamps. I just enjoyed trying them out and she made cards for her best friend and her boyfriend. Sorry, boyfriend?! I thought I’d have at least another year or two before this spectre
appeared on the horizon but it seems that was wishful thinking, as her self portrait clearly shows!
And so begins the fascination with boys
who only a short while ago were scorned as smelly and noisy. I
think it may be largely due to the squeaky clean and wholesome male
charms of Zac Efron (star of High School Musical)! Curse his dazzling
smile!
On the knitting front there is still not much to report from me but if you’d like some knitted cuteness then please pop over and visit the brand new home of Oliver and Olivia where Shawn Mary is having a prize draw to celebrate the launch of her new website.

Edward has decided who he is going to marry, and she is 2 years younger than him 🙂 William however has set his eyes on his friends sister! Young love eh!

My daughter also has an all-encompassing crush on Zac Efron! She had her first boyfriend at play ground when she was 2 and a half. Ever since then, they have always been in the same class at school and he is still besotted with her, hardly a week goes by without him giving her a picture he has done for her and she was very pleased to receive a Valentine card from him – even though she sent one to another boy!!
My hubby is contemplating many different methods of dealing with boyfriends as she gets older (she is 8 now) – current favourite is to make them pass an entrance exam!! xx

Oh – good luck with that one! My eldest hasn’t got there yet but my 7 year old isn’t at the “boys are stinky” stage yet unfortunately!

As a Primary School teacher, my life is enriched with glitter, PVA glue and occasionally I come home with sequins stuck to my face, never in poo though to my sure and certain knowledge. LOL

I frequently find glitter and the like in my sons nappy – I like to think it has fallen down his front but sometimes I am not so sure!

Hi there, Just calling by your blog and wanted to say your free patterns are great, I will definitely be taking a closer look! – My son is 10 and has a girlfriend, they just ‘talk’ as holding hands etc is still ‘disgusting’ but its sweet all the same!

BOYS ALREADY?
Oh my, that is one thing I am not ready for should I have a girl next time. But, should mine be as sweet and lovely as Amy, I will have no worries.
Many, many thanks Julie for the mention above…you have no idea how influential your blog really is!

A-ha. The boys! 😉
Same thing in my house and I also well know that it’s all due to Zac Efron’s blue eyes and fascinating smile. But then she realized that her boy schoolmates aren’t exactly the same as Zac, so a few days ago she asked me if I could ever consider of sending her to East High in the future!!
Oh my, I foresee “exciting” years ahead!
Have a lovely day and happy England’s mother’s day even if I’m late (here it is in May)

Ah Zac Efron! He’s given me totally unrealistic expectations about men, and I’m 22! Young girls don’t stand a chance =)

Ah yes …. it all comes so much earlier these days, doesn’t it? My ambition to keep them indoors in a darkened room until they’re at least 25 just doesn’t seem to be working!
I’m glad to hear you had a happy Mother’s Day, and sparkling poo, how very glam!
Finally, I’d just like to second Shawn Mary, if I may …. without you my blog would still be unnoticed, and I’d STILL have that pesky backpack! You’re a star, Julie.

High School Musical? Argh, we are trying to steer away from that but I think our days are numbered. Ah well, at least it’s fairly sweet and innocent 😉
