This season’s colours…

Basket

Colour is such an important influence on mood and since this winter has been pretty dull and there’s not much colour out in the garden just yet I thought I’d gather up some of the yarn I’m currently knitting in and stick it in my lovely new basket from Snapdragon (they have some gorgeous things and Jane has a lovely blog). Although it’s making me feel cheery, H is not all that impressed with my spring yarn display – he says it makes the living room look like a wool shop – yep, good isn’t it?! Sadly for him he remains unseduced by appeal of yarn and doesn’t understand that you can never have too much of it!

I hope there’s some sunshine in your weekend!

  1. Those colours are absolutely gorgeous!! – They look like sorbet! You are extremely talented – I have heaps of knitting books in my store – but nothing compares to your little creatures! – I want to learn to knit just to make something like your little rabbits

  2. I have a partner who is the same. He asks everytime why i need more yarn ( i,m off to get some belaited birthday yarn on monday and a day out with my precious little ones) when i have 50,000 sheep up stairs in the cupboard. Men do not understand and they like to egsaterate i really have only 49,000 sheep.
So julie you have as much yarn as possible as without that yarn those poor bunnies will not be made. and desperate people will not be able to have the love of your bunnies, monkies, pigs and pandas.
Your work is fantastic and the yarn is a must.
    lots of love Nicci xxxxxx

  3. What a lovely display of ice cream colours.
My husband has learned to make appreciative noises when I show him my wool. And not to ask how much it cost!

  4. Julie, I feel like I have a twin across the globe! Last week I put out Easter colored candles on my table and then a lovely fresh spring (really Easter) runner under it! It just made me feel better during this rainy cold season. Reading your blog and other info on your site, I am amazed how much we have in common. Enjoy your very pretty and cheery nook that you made!

  5. Oh that basket of yarn looks beautiful, and so like a basket full of easter eggs 🙂 love the pastel colors. We are definitely getting the sunshine here this weekend. Today was 80 degrees and it’s gonna be nice and sunny all weekend – gotta love Texas (I’m originally from England but don’t miss the winter at all)!!

  8. The colours are nice Julie – here it is snowing, and snowing, and snowing… so white is pretty much the fashion these days! There will be no hint of real colour until mid-March at the earliers. Enjoy!

  9. These colours are so gorgeous, so spring! Your blog and work is amazing, if I weren’t so busy I’d be tempted to try knitting your easter eggs. I’ve linked to them in my blog, crediting you as the wonderful creator. Thank you.

  10. Oh these colours are just so lovely and really put a smile and a “spring” in your step – pardon the pun.
I came across a lovely site the other day for yarn http://www.whichcrafts.co.uk
They too put a spring in my step and cheered my day up no end, the parcel was lovely to open and especially sweet when out popped 2 lollipops. Some people are just so thoughtful.
I hope I can carry on being just half as creative as you are.

It made my palms itch just thinking about diving in there, it’s looks so yummy! LOL
