Well, school awaits the children in the morning and for me a lovely big pile of new yarn and my trusty needles are calling! The weather was mild today and Toby rediscovered the joy of being outside and bouncing on the trampoline – thankfully using up some of that bundled up energy!
It was lovely and gave me some breathing space so I sat and sorted through my old portfolio of illustration work. It’s funny looking at it all now as I’ve not painted for years. I’m not sure I’d remember how to paint these days. Maybe one day I’ll pick up my brushes again.
If you’re interested in seeing any more of my paintings I’ve uploaded a selection over on flickr. I was really grateful for all of the kind comments that you left me
about some of my work that I showed in an earlier post – thanks for all
of the compliments.

My daughter was playing on her trampoline today, she then went to my Mum’s and spent all afternoon in the garden with my dad. She is absolutely shattered Yeh!
I have to say I’m not a fan of cats but the paintings look great.

Just jumped over to flickr and saw the whole lot…
“Picnic” and “Swing” are stunning! I could jump right into the “Afternoon Tea” one right about now.
I never thought I would see something else you created that would rival your knitted work, but Julie I have to say….these do.

Great artwork. I love the photo of Toby and Amy and the way Toby’s hair is “bouncing” too. Now going over to Flickr to have a look at the rest of your illustrations. Enjoy your knitting Monday.

Oh, I can so empathise! I love my family dearly but it’s so lovely to be on my own this morning for the first time in three weeks. Now, the lovely pile of yarn or the less lovely pile of ironing….
No contest, really!

Hi Julie
I’ve stumbled across your blog whilst looking for a pattern for a knitted bunny to make for my DD. Your little rabbits are by far the cutest thing I’ve seen in my search! Just plain adorable. Do you sell your pattern, or just the bunnies? I can’t see the pattern listed in the shop. thanks Marie

Hello Julie,
Had a few moments to myself and wanted to see what you have been up to lately. You really are so talented, your pictures are fantastic! I think you should start writing a book now – entitled Adventures of Little Cotton Rabbits and illustrated by you! (not sure if you could squeeze that all in to your busy day)?
Best of luck and kindest regards to you.

Julie, you really ought to write children’s stories and then illustrate them. Maybe when you have more time LOL.

Will you send emails when you have more of your knitted beauties are ready to sell. I’ve been trying to purchase some.
Have you sent any to Marhaf Drygoods recently.
I’m dying to get some.
I am in the United States and could give you some mail order shops with wonderful yarn if needed.
Thank you

Oh wow! I’ve finally got around to catching up with everyone’s blog and I can’t get over your illustrations. They are amazing! I hope you do pick up the brush and start painting again some day. I do understand how difficult it can be to find the time though!
I particularly love your black and white illos. They are so moody and the characters have loads of personality. Thanks for sharing your other talent!!
