Amy is starting to build to that fever pitch of excitement that sets in on Christmas eve and has started her preparations by tidying her room without nagging (forgive me my amazement and joy but it’s never happened before!) She then spent 2 hours colouring in strips of paper to make a paperchain and cutting snowflakes from folded paper.
Her room now looks really festive. I’m resisting the temptation to decorate the rest of the house yet – you can have too much of a good thing and I’d not want to be weary of Christmas before it gets going. We’ll probably put up our tree the week before if I can hold out that long!
Amy and I have also been shoe shopping (it’s nice to go with her as she gets as excited by new shoes as me). Earlier in the year we had our matching summer feet and now we’ve ended up with matching snuggly toes.

ooooooo…. lovely boots, where are they from??

Amy’s trimmings look very nice. Can she come and do mine, please? Love the boots photo. Nice and sensible and comfy looking – my sort of footwear. 😀

Those are wonderful boots. And I loved the matching crocs too – I had black crocs and my daughter had pale blue ones this summer! 🙂 x

I love your blog!
Looks like Amy’s got her mother’s attention to detail for lovely crafts. What a gift (especially to those of us who get to enjoy!). 🙂
Happy Holidays.

Please can you tell me how to get a girl (mine’s nine) to clean her bedroom without asking let alone nagging, threatening, etc? Just asking as you seem to have created some magic spell.

Decorating your own room for Christmas is so much fun when you’re a kid! When I was little me and my brother had our own small Christmas tree and mini ornaments we put up in our room. We even had a little set of battery-operated lights for it!

It was so nice to see this post.
Amy and I must think alike.
I bought our mini X-mas tree last weekend…my hubby thought I was crazy to start so soon.
I told him that since I was knitting ALL the ornaments, I needed a real life “mannequin” to hang each one on as I finished.
So far I have 10 little stockings from your fabulous pattern Julie…..so easy and fast…LOVE IT!
I even knitted a gold star for the topper….not so easy and not so fast!

Awwww Amy is so cute! When I was a little girl, I always tidied my room for Christmas – I wanted a nice space for the goodies that Santa would (hopefully) be bringing me. Over 20 years later and I still have the same habit – but now the whole house gets a scrub-down ready for Christmas – this could be the start of a whole new way of life for your girl 😉

We have just spent the afternoon making snowflakes! Can’t wait to put them up.
As for the Clark Bootie, I saw those the other day and drooled over them, wishing I had a little girl! Boys boots are so boring!
