As a parent you often wonder if all of your nagging is in vain – do your kids really listen when you tell them to not talk with a mouthful of food, to take their shoes off in the porch or to tidy their room? Sometimes however you get a glimpse that some of it is sinking in. I went upstairs yesterday and found this taped to Amy’s door
Apparently to enter her room you now have to join a club but only if you’re a girl or Daddy – no boys ‘aloud’! And there are ‘ruls’ by which you must abide:
1. no pushing
2. no calling people names
3. no punching
4. have fun
5. no waking Amy up in the night
Meetings: sunday afternoon till evning.

Thanks so much for the continuing good wishes for my Mum. She is making good progress and has started physiotherapy. She’s been able to get up and begin learning to walk with the Halo brace and we’re hoping that she’ll be able to come out of hospital later this week.

Haha, great isn’t it? They know what you tell them and they are learning, although you sometimes really wonder if they do so;-)
My daughter (13 ) has a black board in her room, where she writes what is right and wrong, and what she doesn’t like about some childeren. On her door just is one note; knock if you want to enter;-) But when I see her talking to children in her class through MSN, helping them. Although her room never is clean, she has so much that I love about her!

Julie – I LOVE Amy’s No boys aloud. I also love her rools. They have a distinct taste of skool about them, particularly because they are number.
Oscar has a no girls aloud, except Remi on his door. (Remi is a female friend of his who echews anything of a girly nature so is thereby granted admission.

You made me laugh. Amy’s “ruls” are fantastic! However, I understand your feelings. As you know my daughter is 8 too and quite often I feel tired of saying “don’t do this, don’t do that” and I think these words fly away with the wind. But then, unexpectedly, like with Amy’s sign, something happens (she says or does something “different”) and I realize that at the end some of my words really sinked in. Thanks God and Thanks Mothers 😉

It has to be a girl thing!! Newly 8 year old, has been posting similar signs on her door. Brother isn’t happy about the new laws. Mostly happens when other girls are around and the No Boys Allowed hormone kids in.

That’s adorable 🙂 It reminds me of my boys a little bit, they decided to write rules for their room at one time as well. My daughter is only 2 right now, but I look forward to her doing these things as well.

It made me laugh to see that sign. Isabelle has a sign that appears when her friends come over that says Girls Only too. Arent they sweet and funny. I am so glad that your mum is doing great too.
