Sleepy bunny

A term which could apply equally to me but at the moment I’m meaning this sleepy bunny

I was mulling over ideas for new rabbits and wanted to explore trousers (don’t we all?!). Then in the middle of the night earlier this week something Rebecca said about her girls taking their little cotton rabbits to bed pinged into my mind (anyone else get weird revelatory ideas in the middle of the night?) the answer was PYJAMAS!!! I’m not sure if these say jammies or whether the top needs to be stripey too but I’m hoping you’ll all give me your feedback. If the consensus is that jammies work then I’ll make some more, otherwise it’s back to the drawing board!

Thanks so much for all of your supportive comments over my copyright hassles. Hopefully it’s all resolved now. I don’t think most people who copy other people’s designs really think about the implications. Maybe it’s easier to justify when they know nothing about the person who originated the design or maybe they genuinely believe they are not doing anything wrong. Creating something handcrafted is a very personal thing – we’re not companies mass producing goods and so copyright infringement affects us personally. Legalities aside I think it’s more of a moral issue really – you just have to ask yourself “how would I feel if someone did it to me”. Anyway, enough said, climbing down off soapbox now, have a great weekend all!

  1. Oh yes, I love the jammies, very very cute, and perfect as a baby gift.
Would you consider adding slippers with bobbles at the back, only ‘cos I had some when I was little …. I won’t be at all offended if you think I’m nuts … well a little.
The heart on the front of the jammies is just adorable too.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  2. I think that you’ve got the sweater just right for this little bunny gal. She doesn’t need a stripey top. There is a stripe(s) on the sleeves. See, you’ve already taken into account the “equilibrium” (?) of the whole.
I think that you have a special, keen eye for balance in your outfits/color schemes.
    Sincerely,
    Ellen 🙂

  3. I love the bunny in jammies. So so cute. She makes me want to snuggle up and go to sleep. I’ve just discovered your blog. Your work is really beautiful. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

  4. Oooh I think thats the first time any comment I’ve made in my entire life has been the slightest bit influential!!! Quite a nice buzz to think what I said got whisked up in your nightime subconscious and contributed to what amounts to a fantabulous idea of yours. Yes love the jimjams, she looks all nested up, really cosy. They (rabbits!) are so lovely to take to bed because they are made with the snuggly soft natural yarns you use, not a nasty sweaty static building synthetic fibre in sight.

  5. Another gorgeous bunny. I want one of each! You have also turned me onto Ludovico who is playing on my computer as we speak. It’s perfect sewing music, so thank you for that 🙂
