A quickie for the weekend

Just a quickie before the weekend. I am still here (and mostly sane) have a few war wounds – mostly glue in my hair and ringing ears from all the pop music. The house is a tip but kids are happy, so who cares?!

Have been a knitting nomad all week and finished off some cakes on a pastel theme. Counting down to Monday and visualising an empty house, Ludovico tinkling the ivories and my box of yarn – ahhh bliss! In truth I think the hoover will be calling and I will no longer be able to ignore the washing mountain, still I can dream.

Have a great weekend everyone.

  1. Back from Bath Spa and really tired. I love those cakes Julie. I am looking forward to some knitting this weekend. Took my knitting on the train but didn’t do any.

  2. New to your blog !!! LOVE your knitted stuff, I have a fantasy about being a good enough knitter to make stuff up and just knit it!!! I keep drawing up ideas and thinking “now what??”
Had a quick read of some of your other posts you have a darling little boy. I grew up with two brothers with cerebal palsy and I know what hard work although treasures they are. My parents are amazing with them(now 31 and 34). We relate to your feelings of sadness when special occasions come and go and they have no understanding of any of it.

  3. I am mystified – how you do half term AND knit like you do – do you have a bag round your neck with everything in for a few rows while the kettle is bioling? it’s the only explaination I can come up with. those cakes are fabulous!

  4. Little idea for you, one of my friends picked up my cake the other day thinking the beads were pins… have you considered them as pin cushions and putting those pearly ended pins in them and not beads. Just thought I would share that with you.
