New Patterns: Skirts, shorts, trousers & panties for the 9 inch and 7 inch sizes

Hello, I hope you’re having a good week. It’s been very spring-like here, with blue skies, sunshine and a warm and fragrant breeze to ruffle the new leaves on the trees. So far however I’ve been inside and having a productive week, as I’ve just put the finishing touches to some new clothing patterns for both the 9 inch and 7 inch animals. These are for skirts, trousers and shorts (baggier in style than the shorts included with the boy animal patterns) and I’ve been playing around with these for quite a while, as I’ve been asked about skirts and trousers many times over the years.

Both pattern sizes contain seven options for skirts, along with the shorts, trousers and panties and also contain instructions on adding a pretty knitted edging, which looks like a crochet edge, to dresses and the free camisole pattern. The panties and camisole together work as either underwear or nightwear.

Here are the 7 inch pattern pictures:

And here are the 9 inch pictures:

Both the 9 inch and 7 inch patterns are now up and live on Ravelry and Etsyย  (Ravelry has a much better download system and adds less seller fees, just saying). Please make sure you choose the right size for the animals you are clothing, the 7 inch version has pink and yellow skirts on the cover and the 9 inch version has blue and green skirts.

As always I hope they’re fun to knit and that anyone who gives them a go enjoys working from the patterns.

Now that they’re done I’m heading out to the orchard with my camera to see the apple blossom before it fades, see you soon, J x

New Cow Patterns

The cow patterns are finished!

As always with my patterns there are 2 versions available:

  • one that comes with a naked body, removable shorts and a choice of 2 removable sweaters, one in an Argyle colour-work design and the other in a single colour textured stitch pattern.
  • and the other which comes with knitted on tights/pantyhose and shoes and a choice of 2 removable dresses, one in an Argyle colour-work design and the other in a single colour clover lace pattern.

Both patterns include the same range of options for the heads, including a couple of different designs using colour-work patches. There are two different options for the body, either plain or with colour-work patches, and two different options for the horns, long or short.

There are comprehensive instructions for knitting and finishing the cows, including over 100 detailed colour photographs to show the steps and the different options. By combining different colours, horns and amount of hair you can easily tailor the pattern to your needs and make a variety of different cattle breeds, in the pattern I’ve shown Highland, Argyle, Holstein, Friesian, Swiss Brown, Jersey, Redpoll, and White Park cattle. I wanted to try a yak and maybe a bison but ran out of steam, but those might also be possible.

As with all of my other patterns they’re now available on Ravelry, Etsy and will shortly be on Lovecrafts too.

If you decide to give either of the patterns a go I do hope you enjoy them.ย  As always I am very excited to see my patterns coming to life in the hands of others, happy knitting and thank you so much for your kindness and support xx

Horses, Donkeys & Unicorns

Thanks so much for all of the kind words about the sneak preview of my latest pattern, it’s so lovely to think that these patterns are going to be enjoyed, I truly hope they are anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

They are now ready and I’ve uploaded the files to Ravelry and Etsy and hopefully in the next few days I’ll also have them on Lovecrafts.

There are lots of options in the patterns. Firstly there are 2 main versions:

the first comes with knitted on tights/pantyhose and shoes and has two removable dresses included, one which is worked in two colours with a stranded loops and flowers design, and the other which is worked in a single colour and has a traditional Shetland lace pattern called Horseshoe lace (well, it did seem apt).

and the other comes with a bare body and legs and has removable shorts and a choice of two removable sweaters, one worked in a two-colour geometric design of triangles and the other is a single coloured sweater using a textured ‘cob nut’ design.

Both of these versions have the same multiple options to make a horse, a donkey and a unicorn

The horse also has multiple options with a design for a plain face with a different coloured nose, a blaze on the face and a forehead star.

You can really go to town with choosing the yarns for the manes (especially the unicorns) and there are lots of yarn suggestions within the pattern.

I’ll be trying my best to give each of these heads a body, though it may take me a while! So many of them remind me of horses I have loved during my life, long gone now but hopefully galloping happily across meadows somewhere in horsey heaven, miss you Amazon, Trigger, Caspian, Danny, William, Katie, Rusty and Sweep xxx
