So, I was in the garden picking beans and the phone started to ring. I dashed across the wet grass, into the kitchen and as my wet gardening shoes hit the lino I took off and flew gracefully across the kitchen. Unfortunately my landing wasn't as graceful and involved a rather heavy up-close and personal encounter with the door frame. Luckily for me though my main knitting arm isn't broken, just rather sore and quite a spectacular colour!
I won't be running in wet shoes again!
I've so enjoyed reading all of your comments over the last week. It's wonderful that so many people find happiness in life's small and simple things and something I count myself incredibly lucky to share in. Anyway, thanks for the smiles that your comments gave me and for all of the very kind compliments about Gracie.

I'm sorry there can only be one winner, but I do hope to have more giveaways in future – maybe I'll have one in time for christmas. Thanks again to everyone who commented and took the time to share their happies. I'm off to join my knitting bag for a little happy time!
Well, here I am starting my 4th year of blogging. When I first started I didn't really think I'd keep it up for so long. I've made some lovely friends and met lots of wonderful people with creativity, imagination and integrity, sadly I've also encountered quite a few people without any of those qualities – but today let's not dwell on the negative side of having a blog. Today, I'm thinking happy thoughts and I want to say a big thank you to all those who visit here with good intentions and leave kind messages which make me laugh, smile or just feel good about the world in general – I really appreciate your visits. Hopefully my giveaway will make someone nice happy too.

Julie, Today what has made me happy is a peaceful day at work, the
dishwasher repair man being on the doorstep when I got home, my niece
having a baby, finding the perfect shirt to buy, all my shopping at
Waitrose being on offer, selling a painting and a sunny walk with the
dogs – why can't every day be like today!
