autumn attire (part 2)

Thanks to everyone for visiting despite my absence over the last couple of weeks and for welcoming me back with your kind comments. Like I said there has been a lot of knitty stuff going on here in between family stuff and lots of it is autumny in feel. Unlike the sweater in the last post, this autumn attire is of the tiny kind (though if I had the patience I'd love to make myself a full-sized one). These dresses were really enjoyable to knit with their leaf motif adapted from a traditional Finnish design and I couldn't resist pinning them on a line like before – it's too hard to pass up the chance to play with those little clothes pegs again.

Line

Later this week I'm hoping to pop these on the animals that I'm now finishing off and get them ready to list in my shop. I'm a bit behind schedule because today autumn feels like she's bowing out to winter, there is frost on the rooftops and a chill in the air.

As soon as they're ready I'll update facebook and send emails to the mailing list. If you'd like me to add you to the mailing list please leave a comment below (but be sure to include your email especially if you comment via a typepad account which doesn't always give me a way of getting in touch with you). Thanks x

  5. So cute! Makes me imagine a little family of bunnies with the mummy hanging out the washing! Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail would look great in those dresses. But where are Peter Rabbit’s clothes? Has he lost them again?

  8. I’m sure I’ve said before that I have huge admiration for the work you do. Your toys are always so beautiful, and the colours just right. I’m glad I’ve taken the direction I have, making patterns instead of toys, but your photos sometimes make me wish I could just knit lots of little soft animals in pretty clothes.

  25. It just struck me that you have to maintain a mailing list. I consider that a huge amount of work, actually – and none of mine are huge. Again, Julie shines in my little eyes. It’s just very generous of you to do this year after year. And frankly, I think every spot of joy you create in a human heart – even though they’ve paid for it, mind – will count later as you assess your life and are able to see the delight winking on in times that are pretty shadowy all over the earth just now. Ha. You are a little power generator, all by yourself.

  29. Oh, please put me on the mailing list! Autumny colors are my favorite! (I’m one of those rare people whose favorite color is orange!) Though I fear actually being able to buy one of your fantastic rabbits might be near impossible, as they seem to be sold before I’ve even seen them for sale in the shop! Will you ever make a pattern for them? I don’t actually know how to knit, but I wonder if my odds of getting an adorable rabbit in a dress would still be better that way!

  33. I love these little dresses and your beatiful crochet rug. I had one of the colourful ones with black borders when I was small and loved it. I’d love to be able to make one for my son but its a new skill I would have to learn. I’m really keen to buy a fox but think I might have missed the boat. Life gets a bit busy with a baby…
