Misty update

I was going to show you a picture of the misty afghan now that it has 96 squares (12 x 8). I spread it out neatly ready to take a photo but when I came back from getting the camera (which it seems is never where I think I have left it) someone had decided it looked like a good place for a picnic!

Picnic 2

Picnic

I am planning to add one more row, making the finished blanket 12 x 9 squares and then I'll make a start on the border. I'll try to get a photo then without it being obscured by a bowl of cheerios and a munching boy!

  1. I love it! Whenever I put my crochet down a cat settles down on it, and yesterday my grandaughter decided to start using my ripple to snugggle under on the sofa even though it is only half finished! And managed to unravel some…

  2. Fancy him coordinating so well with the right colour bowls, and even food that mimics the shapes of the crochet… What a compliment to a beautiful blanket!

  3. Must have brought a smile to your face. No problem, we can wait. Now that fall is really here, I need to get something started (or finished).

  4. Thanks for the giggle. At my house it is usually the dog who checks out the new project while I find the camera. Hope the pinic was yummy! And now you know, Tobi likes the new blanket.

  5. That makes me happy. When someone can seize the true moment and create such a sweet reminder of how to live. I’ve admired your afghan for a while and I’ve had it on my mind to make one. 🙂 Thanks for always sharing Toby with us. Blessings. xoxo

  6. It’s a winner! Sure to be a treasured blankie now – remember when you picnic’d on Mummy’s blanket? I love those colors – wish I had the knack to pick them like that! T

  8. Hey Julie- I don’t think the blanket pic could look any better or more real. Now that’s a “real’ pic. Gorgeous job as usual. Can’t wait to see it done.

  9. This made me laugh. Who needs cats to curl up on our projects? Just a sweet Toby! I like his choice of munchies too! I think I’d like to join him for a picnic. I love how colorful you dress Toby!! Have I ever told you that? I love the bright colors!

  10. Oh I love it!! In my house it is usually one boy under it (almost immediately) and the cat on top (faster than above, if possible). I think they can sense what we put into our projects and that is part of what draws them in (or on, or under, lol). Keep up the great work, it is gorgeous!!

  12. In our house the wet autumn picnics were known as “Carpet Picnics’ because that’s where we ate them when we couldn’t go out! Toby has just the right idea…and a Blanket Picnic could be better especially on such a lovely blanket!

  13. My son has the same PJs and a similar hair colour so I did a double take! Your blanket is looking very stylish, picnic notwithstanding! Let us know what you are planning for the border. I am just finishing stitching a blanket together and am as yet undecided as to what to do with the border. I’m not a very erperienced crocheter!

  15. What else would you be thinking of using the Misty Afghan for other than having an inpromptu pinic on.
Photo’s of Afghans can be taken anytime but photo’s such as this you have to seize the moment and capture the memory as time seems to go all too quickly and before you know it they are all grown up.
