It’s been an emotional weekend here and I’ve been reduced to tears many times. But they’ve been tears of the good sort, brought on by kind messages from people I’ve never met and the hugely generous donations to the CHIPs fund. There are no words to adequately express the gratitude and sense of wonderment that I feel right now, the generosity and kindness of everyone is quite overwhelming.
Today I’m having a quiet start to the week with my knitting. I’m mostly working on bunnies at the moment but the Old Mossy Wall Shawl is also gradually growing when time and inclination coincide. This is about a weeks worth of gentle paced knitting.
Amy calls this the ‘mouldy old wall shawl’ – she is most unimpressed by my colour choices but I think a mother and daughter probably should have different tastes in accessories and I’m quite pleased with how it’s turning out.
Thanks again to everyone for the messages, emails and donations, I am so very grateful and truly moved by the support that everyone has shown.
Well I like your ‘mouldy old wall’ colours – and your knitting needles look very interesting too!
Hope the donations keep on coming.

You are a great ambassador for the cause Julie, you have made us all so aware! So the response is really no surprise to me! You have raised an amazing amount of money, well done. 🙂
I have to say I LOVE the colours of your shawl but Amy’s description did make me laugh!
Have a lovely week,

Mouldy old wall is better than mildy old cheese which is what I spent rather a lot of money on last week. Ick.

I think that is a beautiful colour scheme but I most impressed that you seem to have matching knitting needles too. I’m so pleased that you are getting the support you deserve for your sponsored walk.

I am truly glad to help out with such a good cause, you are such a wonderful mother to Toby and you all deserve some respite albeit a small amount. There should be more help like this for you. All the best for the 10k and I hope the fund gets lots bigger.

That mouldy thing looks like peace and softness to me. And since I’m down with a cold, it looks even better than that. I wish I could have sent more dollars. I’d have given millions if I had them. It’s so good when people get together to bring comfort and relief. I love the look of that yarn. Everything I’ve been doing has been on 0 needles, and I’m tight, so my finger tips are now all numb –
