just a bit excited!

These days it's not often that I feel feel full of childish excitement but today as I walked out of the newsagents I had to resist skipping back to the car, because clutched in my hand was a copy of Let's Knit magazine and it has a little bit about me and my knitting in it.

Thanks to Adrienne for the lovely write up and to H for taking a half decent picture of me – I truly hate having my picture taken!

Happy weekend all. I shall be trying to finish up some christmas knitting and snuggling by the fire as it's a cold one here!

  2. Hi Julie, I was delighted to see your piece in Let’s Knit magazine. Not before time as your toys are just beautiful. You make the toys with so much detail and I wish I could make them as good as you do.
    Well done you. xx

  3. What an honour to be in a magazine!! How exciting. You are such an inspiration to me, have yet to tackle a knitted toy but just learnt how to knit on double pointed needles so am getting closer!! Love you blog.

  4. Well, now, darlin’ – I think the only magazine write ups I’ve ever had were book reviews – that weren’t about me, but about the books – and an interview with a local business mag about something – and – wait – something. Oh, a couple of things I’ve written have ended up on the slick pages. But NEVER has ANYBODY ever written anything like this lovely page about me. So – not only are you an ace knitter, but now an excellently famous one. Actually, you were before – it just took the press a moment to catch up with you. I’m surprised, frankly, that it took them this long. Shoot – I should have done the story myself. I took magazine writing once. What a dunce I am!

  5. Yay for you!!! Well done you deserve the recognition. The only down side is that you are no longer our little secret! Have a great cosy Christmas. Down under, we will be basking the usual Australian heatwave and swimming in the pool between courses.

  8. Oh wowee Julie! That really is the most exciting news (I’m squinting like mad at the screen to try and read something of what it says – I’ll have a look for the magazine at my newsagents). I wonder if they ‘discovered’ you via your blog?
    Kind wishes,
    Sarah.

  9. Congratulations Julie! That is so exciting and definitely a reason to skip (and jump!) for joy. Is that magazine sold in the U.S.? I would love to get a copy that features my favorite knit artist 🙂

  10. don’t usually buy ‘Let’s Knit’ as the patterns are a bit easy, but I made an exception after reading that you are in it! It’s a lovely article, and I’m sure you’ll have even more fans now.(A bad thing for the rest of us-even less chance of having one of your gorgeous animals!!)
