Giveaway time

I've been pretty disorganised this year and I missed my traditional giveaway to celebrate the start of my 6th year of blogging at the beginning of September. So instead I thought we'd have a little pre-Christmas giveaway and here is my giveaway bunny girl Ullie.

Ullie

She's made from a yarn blended from alpaca and silk. Her dress has christmas trees around the hem and a little peter pan collar and she has a little stocking of her own. If you'd like to win her please just leave a comment below and I'll draw a winner at random on Sunday 4th December which should give me enough time to package her up and have her to the winner in time for Christmas morning.

As always, thank you so much for your interest in my work and for supporting our little family xxx

Comments (wow, so very many of them!) are now closed and the random number generator has swung into action and come up with number 156

Thanks so very much to everyone who took the time to enter and leave such kind comments, I really appreciate them all xxx

  183. Hi Julie,
I have just discovered your site and love your work! You are very talented! I love knitting, but these days can’t do much because of “neck problems”. I was very moved reading about your son. I worked for a time as a carer and was sent to care for an Autistic boy on a few occassions. Although I trained as a Pediatric nurse over 40 years ago I knew nothing about how best to care for him. Instinct told me to let him get to know me and come to me and we got on quite well for the brief time I spent with him. You are very special!

On an aside, your post about Toby’s birthday reminded me of my brother. A lot of the behaviours and the thumbbiting, and total non-verbalness. Well, you’re far enough into this journey to know there are no miracles. But now I am 30, and he is 32 and he is settled and happy. The teenage years were hard. But at some point he seemed to just “chill”. He is still afraid of dogs, and still rigidly set in certain routines. But he is also willing to accommodate exceptions in a way he wouldn’t when he was younger. He isn’t independent of course, but he lives in a good place and goes home to visit our parents every other weekend. He is OK, and as you know – that is huge. I hope the same will happen with Toby. They sound alike, so I think you can be hopeful – but I will say my memory of the teenage years (admittedly clouded by my own horrible time) is that it got worse before it got better.
