general stuff

week 1

Our summer hols have got off to a good start here, with the highlight of the first week being the discovery of a new playground. Although it's a half hour drive each way it's been worth the trip as it's a playground with a difference – an aqua one. All the equipment sprays, mists or sheets water – the perfect sensory playground for Toby and it was free!

I expect that it gets really busy in hot, sunny weather but we went while it was cloudy and found it quiet. It's the perfect place for both the children to play together in safety and a good place to try out our new camera!

  1. First comment?!
Wow! 🙂 How fun!! The last time I went to a water park was in 5th grade when I got a tan and stayed on the lazy river for 5 hours. xD

  2. That looks like a great place and lovely to see the two of them playing together! 🙂
As for the new camera, that last photo is brilliant but perhaps that’s down to the photographer and not the camera at all!!
    Keep enjoying your hols.

  3. How fun for the kids! Definitely worth the car trip. And the photos turned out great! I love hearing all about your summer with the kids.
Our adult son is learning disabled so I act as his social director everyday! I don’t mind at all because that means I look forward to an adventure everyday, too! These special children in our lives are a true blessing and teach us so much about life.

  4. Looks like triffic fun was had by your troops. How luvverly to have a good kind of ‘wet’ playground to hand rather than the rain-soaked kind we get up here on the hill.

  5. wow, I’ve never seen a park like that before , Gabe would absolutely love it . I’ll have to search and see if there is one near us. Not surprised Toby loved it ..

  6. What a gorgeous playground! Definitely worth the drive. I would’ve loved something like that when I was younger (really I would it right now!). Glad your hols are going with a splash x

  7. What a great playground. I find children don’t really mind the cloud, my children & now grandchildren love to play on the beach and go into the sea on days I won’t take my jacket off.
I’ve driven miles to playgrounds. I still feel excited if I see a new one. The nicest one is only five minutes walk away. Small but perfectly maintained. Don’t think I’ll ever grow up.

  8. Hi Julie,
Love the photos – the ones of Amy and Toby interacting are my favourites. Also, had a giggle at your most cringe worthy moment on Hello Gorgeous’s blog. A classic! I will be in touch again, soon, but hope all is still going well your way over the summer break! X

  11. It’s lovely to see them both enjoying themselves and playing together. I bet Amy is really patient with Toby. The place looks great fun – were you tempted to join in, I would have been? Have a lovely summer.
