Summer has really arrived here – it's turned hot and sunny and Amy and I couldn't pass up the opportunity that came our way last week for a girls only weekend at the seaside. We set off at the crack of dawn on Saturday and arrived with our friends in Walton on the Naze for breakfast.
The day at the beach was perfect and we topped it off with a visit to the pier, fish and chips and an evening at the kids club. It was so nice to get away and relax but lovely to come home again yesterday and see our menfolk who had pottered around the garden all weekend. Although we were only away for 18 hours it felt like a much longer break and I feel very relaxed this morning – hope that feeling lasts a little longer!
Lovely for you and Amy to have your ‘girls only’ weekend and even nicer that you feel the benefit of it! Have a great week. 🙂

Sounds like a great day out – and hopefully it was a bit cooler on the coast. Nothing can beat fish and chips at the seaside!

I could never take a break without taking along one of my kids. They were such good company, and I didn’t worry so much with one of them there, sharing the time. My friend and I just did the same – just a short trip to another place – up in the mountains for us. Being girls together is lovely. And so good for Amy, too. And then there’s the beach. I haven’t been close to one for over a year. In California, sometimes we are there just at the right time to see dolphins in the curls.

Good on you, how lovely to spend precious time with Amy, it looks FAB.
At the end of last year my baby girl Samantha was 21 !! I took her to a spa for a 2 night stay (just the two of us) it was so much fun being together without our men.

I’m so glad you and Amy had some time together – and what a beautiful beach! Olivia and I are planning a 24 hour get-away this week as well. We will be escaping our 98 degree weather in the pool!
