I expect everyone knows about the awful situation in Australia at the moment with the raging bushfires and devastation that has so far cost over 180 lives and left thousands homeless. The Red Cross have launched an appeal and many people are doing what they can to help. If you're able to help by making a donation then please pop over and visit Trashcan who has spent the week collecting together a host of gorgeous goodies as prizes in her raffle. All you need to do is go and make a donation at the red cross website and then email Trash and she'll enter your name in the draw (1 entry for each Australian dollar that you donate). Go take a look at the prizes (I have my eye on the gorgeous little chair by moogsmum and the beautiful cot quilt from I'm a ginger monkey). There's even a little cotton rabbit who is glowing with pride as she's the poster girl!
Please give what you can to help. Many thanks x
PS: there are more wonderful things being sold and auctioned to raise funds here on Handmade help.
What an absolutely brilliant idea. Well done to all of you. Off to the website now. So unbelievable to think that people start these fires deliberately ….

Oh your bunnies are always so beautiful and gorgeous. Many people have donated so much money and goods so far which is great. Watching all the good stories come out of such tragedies makes me cry everytime and after a while we have to turn the tv off because it really does get to you. We are over an hour away and we had the smoke blow in around our area so I cant imagine how bad it must be up around the actual fire areas.

What a wonderful poster girl and what a wonderful person you are! How small the world seems to be now when people a million miles away are friends through blogging and a disaster on the other side of the world from you touches your heart and makes you want to do something.
Thank you, thank you for your kindness, the people of Victoria affected by this tragedy will hopefully soon be able to start rebuilding their lives.
Have a wonderful day, Kiss Noises Linda Lilly Cottage Queensland Australia

Julie that is such a wonderful thing to do, these people have not only lost family and their homes but all of their town. Every dollar will help to rebuild their communities as well as their lives.

Hi Julie
I just received the most fantabulous email from Trash telling me that I’m the lucky duck who won the gorgeous Annabelle!
I’m so excited and I just wanted to pop in and say THANK YOU for donating to Trash’s raffle for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Please rest assured that Annabelle is coming to a home where she will be loved and adored. I will have to fight my daughter for her and keep her out of reach of the kittens and dogs tho. Perhaps she’ll come to work with me each day to remind me of all the wonderful, caring people in this small world of ours.
Hugs
Kelly 🙂
