Lots of running…
…jumping…
…skipping…
…and a few hoarse throats at the end of it all! I was proud of my girl who was a good competitor and had lots of fun despite not winning. The family picnic on the school field afterwards was lovely too and unusually for a British summer event there was actually sun!

what fun that looks! I can’t wait until my daughter can join in like that. At the moment she is only 15 months so will have to wait a while. In the meantime i am waiting for my sister to give birth – she is currently in labour now …

A sunny sports day? Surely you jest! But no, the photos are there to prove it =) My favourite was always the three-legged race. Tangles a-go-go!

A sunny and competitve sports day? How fantastic! Although she’s in Year 4 tomorrow will (hopefully weather permitting) be the first for me and my daughter. Hope it’s a good as yours :o)

I’m exhausted just looking at all those energetic pictures! Great attitude to winning (or not!). Without competition it’s impossible for children to learn these important lessons which hardly prepares them for the mean old world out there! Great stuff!

Oh so sweet, and congrats to your little good sport! Ours was last week, and we had sun too. Sadly my little one has not yet ‘got’ the not-winning part – though in one race she was upset because her friend in the neighbouring lane had crossed into her lan and picked up the plastic banana she was meant to be collecting … I think I might have been upset at that, come to think of it!

Lovely sports day action shots! The picnic sounds like fin too.
Love the pictures on your last post, although I’m sure I can see another tiny tomato peeping from behind its flower.
Really enjoying your blog

Hi Julie,
These photos bring back memories ~ I have to admit that I hated school sports day, as I was never very good at those races!
Enjoy your weekend.
