red shoes, no knickers…

…or so according to my friend's dad!

Although I do love red shoes, I'm not really a no-knickers kinda gal. In fact when it comes to pants my view is the larger and more comfortable the better (my g-string wearing days are definitely behind me!)

Anyway, swiftly moving on – my new red polka dot birkis have arrived to help me celebrate the onset of spring!

Enjoy the weekend!

PS: thanks for the shoe love! I got them from Birkenstock's online site.

  1. Now where I come from it’s fur coat….! There’s a red shoe girl in all of us. Time to unleash my bare white legs onto the world? Spring has sprung, it’s official, Julie got new red shoes! :0)

  2. My mum used to say that too however I think they are lovely lovely shoes and I’m a bit jealous. In fact a lot jealous. Where are they from?

  3. I had that comment from a few people when I recently bought some very shiny cherry red t- bars. Considering I also have a red bag and red hat I think its more likely I have red knickers too rather than none!

  4. These are the absolute cutest shoes in the world! I love “T-straps” and these in red are the bestest! 🙂 I might just have to see if I can find some for myself…if I ever find a job! 🙂 Have a great weekend!

  5. My mum said that to us too, and it must have stuck as I have never owned red shoes! Yours are fab though, and look at all the daisies – I am very fond of daisies and happy to see them in our lawn!

  7. Oh joy, a summer red boot equivalent! Wish I found Birkenstocks more comfy, but my feet are flat as a pancake so the moulded base makes them ache. But for those, I might consider suffering…

  8. Love Birkenstocks! I’ve got 3 but sadly no red polka dot ones. Lovely shoes!! Bet they are comfy!
Still tracking my little cotton rabbit from overseas. =) Trying to wait patiently… 🙂

  9. Hi girl…catching up on your site. I totally understand your delima. But when I scrolled down and saw the “copies”. Sorry, they are not the same as yours…they are ugly, no personality.. they don’t “speak”…Yours have lots of stories inside of them just waiting to come out…they are joyful, and have life…Keep up your talents. they are YOUR own, no one can take that away. For they come from a one of a kind, created YOU! Be blessed! C

I was having this very conversation with someone this morning..I hate G-strings..they should be banned!! What is worse than a builders bottom?..a G-string bottom. Someone bending over and revealing a thong/G-string..urgh!
I lurve Birkies too..wear them all the time..also love my shoes from ‘art’too. You have great taste Julie!x

  12. Hey, loving the shoes – what is it about red with white polka dots that brings a smile and certainly heightens the sunny feeling! Pleasure about the book – hope it’s good?! As I was wrapping I had a feeling young Amy would take a shine… Have a lovely weekend – and thanks for adding me to your site list x

  14. Hi Julie!
Love your shoes! And, they have little polka dots on them too!
Gosh, you’ve brought back memories. My Mum used to say, “Fur coat, no knickers.” It always used to shock me! 🙂
If it’s any consolation, I’ve NEVER had g-string wearing days!
    Take care,

  16. How could anyone not be cheerful in such wonderful footwear!!! Here in Australia, though, it is time to think of something nice and warm and comforting as it currently is autumn, but as the rain today reminded us, Winter is just around the corner. Time for lovely wellies, perfect for puddle-stomping.

  17. Why not start your own revolution and do “Red shoes, Red knickers!” Remember when our Mum’s would tell us to wear nice knickers “in case we were in an accident and got taken to hospital” and the doctor saw you had your knickers with holes and stretched elastic on…shame…embarrassment…(showing my age now…) as for me, no knickers is pretty good in the tropics with a soft sarong on!
