Monkee maker started this a few weeks ago (I’m always late to the party!) and I’ve really enjoyed seeing where other people get knitty with it. So I thought I’d share a few knitting corners of my home.
After the kids are off to school and I’ve made a cuppa I’m to be found
curled up here in the lounge – with the morning sun shinning through
the window behind me it’s a nice spot. (note the clever angle that I used to take this shot which avoids the dust, crumbs and other detritus strewn across the floor)
In the afternoon the light is better at the back of the house and you can find me sat here in the trampoline viewing gallery whilst keeping an eye on the kids if they’re out in the garden. (Please try to ignore the view outside the window – both the mess and the small bottom – you get used to both around here!)
After the mayhem that is teatime my next knitting stint comes at bathtime:
Luckily for me Toby likes a long and playful bath!
I’m glad that knitting is so portable and that I get a change of scenery throughout the day. I can also knit in the garden (when it’s warm and dry) and that’s probably my favourite. I do however quite envy some of the lovely craft rooms that I’ve seen on my travels through blogland especially Heather Bailey’s, and Manda’s and of course Katie’s awesome shed. Maybe I could persuade H to find the lawnmower a new home and commandeer our little shed as a little cotton rabbits craft oasis (I wish) but in all likelihood I’ll have to stick to being a knitting nomad!
Take up the Monkee Maker challenge and show us where you do your thing!

It is nice to meet another crafty nomad. I too love the idea of a studio but in all honesty would probably still be found dragging the latest crafting from room to room. Even my car has a little knitting bag and small projects to work on. I like your knitting bag too.

Hurrah! Thanks for doing that – obviously yours was one of the houses I most wanted to snoop around!
I love the shot with Toby’s botty in the background ….. was that planned or just a funny accident?
And such a clever idea with the photo angle …. why didn’t I think of that?
Finally, I hope your knitting bag is waterproof!
(And thanks for taking part in my social networking experiment and spreading the word 🙂 )

The crumbs and avoid them make me smile;-) We always say; you can eat from the floor, there is enough to eat;-) I love foto’s where you can see corners of a house, always great to see. Enjoy your knitting!

Love your photos Julie – your house looks amazing so either you are really tidy or else very very good at the cropping/angling/avoiding technique! Can you teach me too? Actually, no camera techniques would ever make my house look tidy no matter how hard I tried! Lucy x

LOVE IT!
I was hoping I was not the only one who wanted to know where or how you knitted.
Inspired by a previous post, which showed your Cath Kidston bag, I ordered not only the Cath knitting bag but almost EVERY item to match from the Cath Kidston “Washed Roses” line.
It’s amazing how inspired knitters can be by pretty things or places.
Before seeing your gorgeous bag, I was keeping my knitting supplies and expensive yarn in Tesco plastic bags on the dining table! Even my hubby thought it looked pathetic.

looks like you have some bunny help there Julie – I find it impossible to photograph my house without it looking like a slum – or some ‘before’ picture for a documentary about squalor!!
enjoy your knitting day today!

Your house is lovely! I do not dare post pictures of mine – well, not until I’ve had a good tidy up anyway.
Love the waterprrof knitting bag – I hadn’t thought of knitting at bathtime. Maybe I could knit them some new flannels 😉

love the fact you take angled photos too –
i could never reveal my floors!
i too am a knitting/sewing/reading/blogging nomad, and wishing for a studio like Heather’s or Manda’s.
i need to evict the cows and the llama off the site where (hopefully) mine will be built – if pennies allow!
have a great week
love the cute botty shot!

Lovely photos of knitting corners. That’s why I still love knitting the most, you can take everything with you and knit where-ever you are. I even like to knit during long drives with the car (no, not behind the wheel!)

I have to say what everyone else has said as well, I love the pic’s of your home. Looks very inviting and beautiful 🙂 I never even noticed the little bottom out the window until you mentioned it LOL 😉 Your bag is so cute too, loved all the links to the pretty craft rooms as well. I don’t have the space with my 3 kiddos, I’ve been downsized into a craft-closet LOL 😉

I took up Monkee Maker’s challenge, too! (Well, sort of – I knit a lot on the train, but I haven’t been on the train lately so no pic of that…Don’t tell MM, please…)

Lovely post, lovely knitting! I enjoy the photography with little personalities around the knitting bag. I must say I agree with sun-worshipping whilst working, there’s nothing better than a dose of sunlight when you can get it. I’m already thinking: it’s time for the light box to come out…. but will hold out for a few more weeks at least! thank you

Thinking of you last night wondering if there was a clever angle from which I could take a few knitting-spaces pics without doing much to make the place look presentable (there wasn’t – sadly, I am going to have to actually clean.)
Love the sea creature shot!
Note to Monkee Maker: is that YOU in the bare-bottom shot : )
