Sports day and fudge!

I’ve spent this morning at Amy’s sport’s day. There were a couple of torrential downpours that had everyone running for the cover of the trees but luckily the weather was mostly dry and good enough for the kids to have fun and for us all to enjoy a family picnic afterwards (I hid when it was time for the mum’s race and so was spared the indignity of coming last!!).

I wasn’t quite so lucky on the walk home and got absolutely soaked but once I got through the door I was cheered up as I  found this waiting for me! Off now to make a cup of tea and immerse myself in fudgey loveliness – Thanks to Simmy for the wonderful home-made treat!

  1. Hi – I came across your blog thru Raggy Rat and when I saw your photos, realised I’d seen them before when you commented (most kindly!) on my knitted broccoli on Flickr! Come visit my blog sometime – not much knitting at the moment, mostly jewellery and artwork. It’s http://www.uniqart.blogspot.com

  2. I saw your pictures and was reminded of our “field days” when I was in grade school. So fun!
Tea and fudge – it doesn’t get much better than that!

  3. We had sports day yesterday too, had to dodge the rain, parents races cancelled due to bad weather (hooray – so I didn’t even have to hide!).
No fudge though…blogland is strange, I saw the ladys’ post about sending out her fudge to bloggy friends and now I have seen it arrive!

  5. Hi Julie! I’ve only just discovered your blog whilst googling “knitted cakes.” Yours are by far the best I’ve ever seen! Love the rest of your blog too. I also have a son on the autistic spectrum – not severe as he has Aspergers but it has certainly presented some challenges over the years. (He’s now 14) I’ve only recently dicovered this blogging world and have taken the plunge this week and started my own (very amateurish compared to yours and many others) so please look in some time.
