100 today!!!

This is my 100th post!!

And I want to say a big thank you to everyone who
has left a comment or just visited here and lurked (I know you’re there ‘cos I watch my stats!). I get so much enjoyment from this little blog and when you visit here, you make my day!

I’d like to offer the
chance for one person to win their own little cotton rabbit (or bear / panda / monkey). If you fancy taking part just leave me a comment on this post and in 1 week I’ll ask my lovely
assistant Amy to draw a single winner from all of the commenters.

Custom_2

If you need any inspiration for ideas, here are a couple of the toys I’ve made since I started blogging:

Mosaic2260392

As I can only offer 1 free toy I’ve been racking my brain to think of something else to offer to everyone so I’ve come up with a free pattern to share. You could knit this as a decoration for a t-shirt, a tea cosy, a bag…I’m sure there are many more imaginative uses too (I’ve just whopped it on a T-shirt for Amy)

Tshirtcupcake

Many, many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to comment here – each comment has been eagerly read and cherished and if I’ve not responded I must apologise as time (and Toby) doesn’t always permit. Thanks again for stopping by!

My competition is now closed to new entries, I’ll be drawing the winner shortly and will post tomorrow, thanks!

  5. I love your cupcake decoration – it is such a cute embellishment. However I think I will put the one I knit Meg on something warm as we are told to expect snow again tonight. The children are crossing there fingers as the school buses can’t make it up to our plateau when it snows.
Luckily this doesn’t happen to often. In fact the most dramatic fall we had was the day after I had brought a much smaller Meg home from the hospital. We had so much fall then that they had to shut the Federal Highway (the main freeway from Sydney to Canberra) from Macs Reef Rd (where we are) right to Collector which is about 80 kilometres from here). Meg had been delivered by c-section and we had one and a half paracetamols in the house. Boy it is amazing how many times you can subdivide one of those when you are desperate.

I’m heading towards my 1000 comment (amazing!) and have a plan for that!

  99. a conversation with a child upon recieving a little cotton rabbit….
Child: How can you tell if he really feels happy with us, after leaving all his friends?
Adult: Because you can see it on his face, just like i can see the happiness on yours since he came, because now you love him.
Child: ..but don’t you need a heart to love someone, has he got a heart ?
Adult:well…when something is made by hand with such care it is imbued
    Child: what does imbood mean?
Adult: um well shall we say, it means its filled with the love the maker feels as she knits and creates it and that forms its heart because it is literally made from love. Like we all are really.
Child: Oh i see..thats alright then Mummy i’m glad he has a heart like mine because now i know he can love me back as much as i love him and that feels nice and happy, so i know he wont be missing his friends.
Adult: no he’s very happy having made a new friend in you.Night night then.
i hope this little conversation gives an insight into the magic of Little cotton rabbits/bears/monkeys and pandas and how they touch the child in all of us. Its as if the love that goes into making them reaches out and touches our hearts. It draws so many of us to want to offer them a home.
    thankyou Julia so much

I am thrilled you have had so many comments (although it reduces the odds on winning..LOL) I was over the moon with getting over 20, it just goes to show what amazing work you produce and what a joy it is to visit your blog. Lottie is thrilled at the possiblity (although slight) of getting a play mate!!!
