I had to share these pictures of Toby sporting a bubble afro in the bath. He has a real thing for bubbles – likes to eat them too and drink gallons of bathwater and always has a major fat nappy about half an hour after his bath! Often autistic kids are compelled to eat strange things – I’ll spare you some of the more disgusting items he’s consumed but some of his previous snacks have consisted of dirt, leaves, erasers, twigs, soap, crayons and a pair of Barbie shoes! It’s one of the reasons I keep him constantly in my sight and why I often have little teeth marks on my fingers from hooking out offending items as quickly as possible! Still, with a face that cute you just have to forgive him!

Indeed you do, beautiful pics Julie, so angelic!

What wonderful piccies, and don’t those bubbles look just scrumptious. I used to enjoy nice warm bathes when the weather started turning colder, but unfortunately the bath here is plastic (yuk) and they didn’t insulate it, AND it is directly touching the concrete slab. As a consequence if you try to have a bath in it you can feel all the heat being sucked straight out of it while you lie there. It’s a rented house so we can’t tear it out and start again.
Both my boys are on the mild end of the autism spectrum, and even though Ben (the middle one of the family) is almost 11 he still tends to mouth things so I know what you mean about having to houk things out of mouths. It’s amazing what they will thing of to put in there. With both the boys I’ve seemed to have a sixth sense when they were (or with Ben, are) about to do this and always turned up just in time to see screws for example disappear into the maw and consequently was about to avoid disaster, ambulance calls and all of the attendant consequences.
Well it makes life interesting…. 😉

Bless his bubble halo! I’ve often wondered if drinking Matey blue bubble bath water would turn ones wee a funny colour. I made some noxious blue jellies for a b-day party once and nearly died of fright when Mark weed afterwards!!

Your pics remind me of pictures from the water babies, all those lovely bubbles. He looks like he is really having fun.
My 2 year old doesn’t necessarily eat odd things, but likes drinking bath water. For a long time as soon as the warm water surrounded her in the bath she pooed! Exit one distressed 6 year old (big sister) and one very bemused toddler.

Toby looks like he really enjoys his bath-time.
Thanks for the comments on lavender Julie. I am so pleased to hear that both you and Toby enjoy the benefits of lavender oil.

Hi, just popped over from a link on Kerrie’s site. Your little bunnies are gorgeous and all individual. The organic veg looks really fab and fresh too, we just had a flier through from them, I may give them a go!

Cute as a button, or is that a bubble.
Having spent years with children in the autistic classroom I sympathize with “everything goes into the mouth”. After awhile you think you’ve seen it all and then they totally prove you wrong.

Toby looks lovely as usual … nice fro bro!
Bailey often chews paper, it drives me nuts finding little blobs all over the place, down the couch, under the TV unit, nuts I tell you nuts.
