cakes and sunshine

Won’t be getting much time for blogging over the next 1 week, 5 days, 16 hours and 32 minutes (do you get the impression I’m already looking forward to the kids being back at school?). Yesterday was great as it was warm and sunny and we were in the garden for most of the day, picnic lunch, building sandcastles in the sandpit, lots of trampoline bouncing and just enjoying the warmth outside (feels like it’s been a long winter!). I even managed to finish these knitted cakes – sewing on the beads whilst sitting in the sunshine! (they’re now winging their way to Lilimay – a new shop in Brighton)

Today is not so nice – drizzly rain this morning resulted in a shopping trip just to get out of the house and it’s too windy and cold to sit outside (although Toby is still bouncing as I write!). Still, we have some fun planned for later in the week and we’re looking forward to catching up with old friends. Fingers crossed for more knitting in the sun! Will post again when I can!

  1. Feeling the kids at home, no time for blogging/making thing too. But it’s so lovely not having to chivvy everyone in the morning that I don’t really mind!
Here’s to a holiday with lots of sunny days and good times.

  2. Hi Julie
They look good enough to eat! Glad to hear that you have been enjoying some sunshine – we are having rain, turning to snow later tonight!!! Happy Easter.

  3. I LOVE my new cupcake which arrived yesterday. Thank you so much Julie. I haven’t unwrapped the bunny as it is for my son Alfie. It was so beautifully wrapped that I decided to leave it and be surprised on Sunday when he finds it in his stash at the end of his treasure hunt. I hope you have a great Easter break and survive! x

  4. Wow, those cakes are beautiful. I made some but they turned out rubbish, I can’t concentrate with the kids around as I lose count of stitches! I suppose after 250 you can do them in your sleep though!

  5. Soooo cute!! I don’t think that there is anything wrong with creating little cakes and toys! My friends think that I too waste my time knitting. I have one friend that tells me “why knit when you can buy it!?” Well, because knitting is cheaper then therapy, I made it, and it brings joy!! Just seeing your creations makes me happy!
I just got a great book that you would love (if you don’t already have it!) It is called “Knitted Toys” by Zoe Mellor. It is full of ADORABLE projects!

  7. I was just reading through your blog and I really enjoy it, and you bunnies so much. Are any of them for purchase? I especially love the cakes too. Thank you for sharing your life and what you do.
